Can I still make payment by cheque?

I am hoping to make an overpayment on my mortgage, and usually do this by sending a cheque to the banks HQ in Dublin. Am I still able to do this? I know there were radio adverts running a while back about cheque payments being phased out.

This was for E-Day when government departments stopped sending/receiving cheques from business: http://whatsnew.citizensinformation.ie/2014/09/19/today-is-e-day/
