I believe my PC fps is limiting itself

In every game I get pretty much a constant 60fps, which I know is more then fine, and anything over is pretty much overkill, but I'm almost certain my fps is being capped somewhere a long the road, and would like to know where.

My graphics card is AMD Radeon R9 280x, and I do have MSI Afterburner installed, and the frame cap is not active on that.

Anyone know what could be causing this? let me know if I can give any more necessary information, thanks.

V-sync is usually active by default in most games. That'll cap your frame rate to the refresh rate of your monitor.
You can disable it per game if you like, but you'll get pretty unsightly screen tearing. There's generally no reason to disable it unless you're getting input lag.

Some games as well have built in caps.
