apartment hunting advice

I'm going to look at a few apartments this week to rent, would appreciate some advice of what to make sure of before I sign a lease, a checklist of some sorts, thanks

Too lazy to write a list but I'm sure there's other lists if you do a bit of searching on other threads. One bit of advice, don't make yourself seem too fussy by having a list or seeming awkward, it's a landlords market, so you need to seem reasonable for a landlord to accept you. Have good references, and a deposit ready. Make sure not to hand over the deposit without a receipt and making sure it is a genuine landlord. And good luck.
