Nets been dropping all night, I'm so pissed off right now. Everytime in game it drops after a few mins and routing is still messed up everywhere.

Ring comreg and report it to them. They will advise you on making a formal complaint with there reference number, they will also contact eircom on your behalf. I'm still awaiting a reply from eircom but as soon as I mentioned my comreg reference number they seemed to take notice of my many complaints

Haven't been asking for much the last couple of years, just to be able to play a few games online at night

Very odd, I'm getting a solid ~6ms to home.eircom.net (Kildare area), is your router reporting many errors? Perhaps ring up on your mobile and get them to run a line test.

Odd, by any chance is your exchange due to be upgraded to eFibre soon? I had a similar experience in the months leading up to the rollout. Couldn't pinpoint exactly what was wrong.

No, but its NGB uncongested. The exchange is outside my house. Sync at 23 meg or so with fastpath on.

Its in the upgrade path for efibre but probably sometime in 2016

Everything is fine again at this hour

Trust me there is know loyalty when its about broadband. People will do business with a provider who provides the best speeds and price and data plans.  Eircom only had UPC to deal with in the past its changing. ESB will have a decent network across the country in 4 years and people can move on from Eircom if they don't sort out their nonsense.

So is the answer to slow eFibre at night to either

    1 - Move to Vodafone
    2 - Pay for a VPN

Im getting sick of the slow downs in the evenings.  Even street view images take ages to load, never mind youtube.

Downloads from HEAnet's mirrors are unbelievably slow.

    (290 KB/s) - '/dev/null' saved [31162368/31162368]

This on an 80 Megabit profile BTW.

At least acknowledge the issue please...

Eircoms think everyone's connection must be perfect because there is so few complaining. Well know most people have not got the time to complain on forums or even interested they just cut the service off for good and just leave it that. Eircom UPC got popular for a reason and why you guys lost a lot of customers. You are rising the prices in April and i can't even stream the Microsoft window 10 conference at 5 o clock in the afternoon without buffering or stopping occurring. Eircom come on you're one of the dearest providers of internet in Europe and the service is like this! Get your house in order and provide a stable connection.

Can't use YouTube at all tonight. This is a traceoute to the affected google video server (used mtr because some of the hops don't respond 100% of the time).

    The silence is deafening, Eircom.

Eircom, for the last few days, I have once again been experiencing the same dismal performance that prompted me to start this thread in the first place.

Please fix, and please fix for good. Please test your network. It is not uncommon for networks...to...err...test it, regularly. Like, daily.

On the 100mb unlimited eFibre package and speeds have dropped this week? Granted, I do have several devices connected to the modem and wifi, but I usually get 25-30 and according to speedtest.net I'm getting 9-14mb

  • Registered Users Posts: 84 ✭✭ElizKenny

    Youtube unuseable.
Even google street view is sloooooow tonight.
Come on Eircom. Get your act together.

Good thing you increased your prices. That allows us all out of our contracts.
How do you justify giving a worse service and looking for more money for it.

    Silence speaks volumes

Internet has been bad for weeks if not months after 5 o clock. To be honest i have been with Eircom so long i probably stick with them lol. The speeds are not great still on ASDL1, but the service rarely goes offline and i be more annoyed if that happened.

I hope Eircom speeds up the roll of Efibre in 2015. My area is been upgraded July-December so far away. You think they would upgrade areas first and then look for a price increase?

That's the kind of attitude that allows them to operate. You think its acceptable because it doesn't go offline. Sorry if I sound harsh but they've been getting away with providing an abysmal service for far far too long, it wouldn't happen in other European countries, and it doesn't, yet somehow in Ireland they get away with it.
