Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Unleaded petrol 139.9 per litre at Star Energy, Athlone Rd., Roscommon, surely the cheapest in Ireland!

    But at what cost?!

Assuming the average petrol car uses about €1 per 10km, there's little to be gained from straying far off your usual route to save money.
You could easily save €2 but end up using €3 worth of fuel for the extra distance travelled.

Amazingly, not one garage seems to have been affected. Don't know how they are getting away with it.
Loads of customers have been though, at great cost.

If they are provided with tainted fuel by a supplier, what can they do?

Well I wouldn't sell a product without knowing that it was genuine.

does the same 'stretching' happen with diesel?

No. Diesel is just laundered, and that doesn't damage your engine.

Laundered Diesel has the lubricant stripped out it with the dye, it'll wreck your engine eventually.

Indeed, Addle - please provide source for your claims or it's gossip at best or slander at worst.

Who or what am I guilty of slandering?
I haven't accused any specific business of anything?
There is an issue with petrol in many areas, Roscommon being one.
The times article is a source. The people I know who have lost the use of their cars are a source.

You refer to the station in the OP no? Or did you mean another station at some other location?

Yes, petrol stretching happens all over the country as does diesel washing. It doesn't mean you can freely imply on boards that a certain place is doing something illegal.

Biko they do name a station in the o.p.

I see that petrol was below 140 a litre on the Athlone road in Roscommon yesterday.
