Gah, the pain of the €50-60 ticket price tag. Will have to give this one a miss and keep everything crossed they play Glastonbury. :(

Holy crap, I was all down for getting tickets to this but this seems a little much for the Olympia. The current set-list is nice but I think I'm gonna give it a miss too..

    Kings of Medicine?
I think you mean "Battle for the sun".

This will be my 3rd time seeing them in the Olympia.
The first being notable as the band had to leave the stage, when plaster from the ceiling fell onto the stage and the show was stopped for 15 mins.

Jaysus how did I get that wrong - THE SHAME :D

I remember that gig! December 2000, Idlewild supporting?

One of the greatest gigs I've ever been to

That was an amazing gig, Brian talking about Curtis Mayfield when the ceiling started to crumble and shouting at bouncers for hassling people who were dancing. Great night.

Anyone looking forward to the gig tomorrow night? Just heard that 3rd drummer Steve Forrest has also left the band. Hope this doesn't affect the chemestry too much, Last time I seen them was in the Olympia when Black market music came out (with Steve Hewitt)

Just found out about this now, devastated I missed it. Only saw them live once, I was working at Oxegen in 2006 and we blagged our way up onto the back of the stage while they were playing using our staff wristbands. Twas a good time.

The setlist above is fairly accurate although it omits "Follow the cops back home" which was played.

Brian Molko has real star quality and great stage presence.

Sound quality was fantastic and really loud.

Damn didn't even know this was on! was there any support act?

I saw them a few years ago when Silversun Pickups were supporting them. Enjoyable gig.

Support band were The Mirror Trap from Scotland and were very good.

I had a blast at the gig! Made it to the front row on Stefan's side. Brilliant! I loved every song they played; thought it was a great mix of old and new, and since every Placebo song is a favourite of mine, they played all my favourites! Couldn't be happier and I'm so excited to see them again in London!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,563 ✭✭✭stateofflux

For me the Gig was average. a bit by the numbers & over rehearsed. A Lot of new mediocre songs and too many session musicians floating about for my liking

Still did enjoy it, sound was great and the stage Lighting was cool.

Yeah, I was at the Waterfront and thought the lighting did him no favours - voice was still excellent.
