Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

just have a bit of food and warm clothing and you will get on fine sounds like you should be fine

    what clothing are we talking?

Plan on wearing the gabba 2 jersey / jacket with short sleeve base layer, nano flex leg warmers - weather doesnt seem to be set for double digits? is that enough / too much on a longer cycle??

what do you do for food yourself?

    cheers

I turned off at kilternan, but with my journey out to ballaly I reckon I hit the 100. My longest spin yet.

    Well done all,

Cheers again for organising. Really enjoyed it.

Was 5k short of 100 when i got home so had to do a few laps around my area.

First time over 100 for me..definitely feeling it now.

Hoping this weather continues for a while so we can keep it going.

Morning all , hope everyone who came out on last Sunday's ramble are well rested and looking forward to our next outing.

As this group has become fairly established now with a core group of regulars , can I ask anyone who has already been out or intends to join us over the coming weeks to forward on to me your contact details via pm.

Going forward this will be used to send out group texts etc for any reason route changes , cancelled spins etc , obviously we will keep thread going on here to keep all those thousands of lurkers up to date with proceedings you never know hopefully we can encourage some of them to join us in the future.

    Thanks in advance.

    Cheers

Great work as usual, for anyone who hasn't come out before its good one for people to learn new routes and get used to cycling in a mid sized group. I have been cycling 3-4yrs now and only going places for first time thanks to bikerbhoys routes.

Lets not muddy the waters with different routes, lets stick with my route for this week, as people are familiar with this terrain and it also gives shorter route options if people (possibly me this week) are under time pressure.

I let you pick next week, I promise.....

Was only a suggestion anyway, pushing 90km again might be a push for me if its cold again

Thats why I have given 2 shorter options either return at Blessington / return after loop into Naast at Blessington / or do full route . ..

Nobody is forced to do anything they don't feel up to or have time for . .

Wherever possible there are always get out points on my routes . .

Was really looking forward to it, but I'm going to have to pull out if this Sunday's spin.

I had a little spill last night. Came off the bike at about 9pm turning into my estate. The back wheel slipped out on some frosted tarmac on the turn. The end result is a large bruise and swelling on the top of me leg just below the hip.
Nothing to bad but a literally a pain in the ass to walk/ hobble. Should be ok for the following week.

Ok folks due to various commitments , work , this , that and the other I am afraid I am unable to commit to the group for the next few weeks.

Due to the super commitment of a few of you a core group has formed and I hope you can keep spins going into the new year when I hope to return to prepare for 2015 .

Well done to everyone to date , Enjoy the spins and stay safe , see you soon. . .

Just bring your bike and keep pedalling and learn some new routes.

thinking back roads after kilternan, maybe head into bray, head back toward enniskerry take on that climb that brings you out at enterance to powercourt golf club and top of the village, then taken on foxes again and over to viewing point and back. not sure distance prob looking at 60km if I throw in a little extra.

Had a strong head wind on the way out. So didn't make it to ballaly till about ten past and missed you. Tried to play catch up but you must having been doing some pace ;) did 45km.

    Toes were very cold today.

sorry buddy we waited till 5 past then assumed you must not being coming, we actually took it handy enough but 5mins is quiet a head start, got 60km done but changed route a little because of that wind
