have been doing pro for a gaa club past year, taking pictures of various teams and trying an odd action shot with the intention of posting on clubs facebook page with a iphone 5 ...some of team pictures are fine but quality when it appears on facebook is average enough.....was thinking of buying an actual camera that wouldn't be too dear....someone today recommended Nikon Coolpix L830 zoom bridge camera which is 149.99 in argus at the minute....any guidance from this forum?

At that price range all point and clickers are the same and, really, a lot of camera phones are now on par camerawise including your Iphone.

Sure some point and clickers will have different amounts of optical zoom and some have wider lenses and so on that make them marginally better but since none are actually up to the task, the differences are meaningless.

For proper sports photography lenses and cameras you're talking thousands which is why a lot of GAA clubs use local pro and amateur photographers whos kids are in the club who already have the required kit for their team shots.
