I started cooking alot of stir frys and not using jarred sauces, just herbs and soy sauce and dash of oyster/fish sauce. I boil brown rice too but it always is really bland without a sauce. Any suggestions? I tried small amount of mustard and milk and brown pepper this evening but it done nothing...cheers for any help

Caramelise some onions before throwing in your rice and some stock

It sounds like your stirfry sauce is a bit bland too. Do you have any spices, fresh ginger and garlic in it?
