Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The rugby is next week though!

Could've taken a touch, such was the quality of the ball!

Leinster had a European game there as well as a game against Munster.

BTW, I've just changed over cause the ref is a Clare man, how is he getting on?

Ref has been fine after an iffy start where he booked 3 players. Neither team can complain about him

Ah yes, would still expect better.

Good enough, nothing shambolic, improved from the early days.

And as we speak, he misses a clear foul on Forrester!

17k in attendance. Decent enough crowd. Higher than the 2012 attendance I think.

Would Fagan not have still been offside no?

Nt that it would've mattered. Derry don't look like scoring all day.

2 players between him and the end line, plus I don't think you can be off side if the opposition have the ball.

Two goals from Fagan even though he's been awful. Derry's defence are a joke.

Pats first cup win in over a thousand years.

Think when the ball was played up he was behind the last defender. I know refs usually give a "grace period" where the striker interferes with play they call up offside. No Matter. Derry woulda just lumped a ball into the Pats CBs anyways.

Well done Pats. Enjoyable day out and a tenner in.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,218 ✭✭✭qwabercd

Decent game. Much more noise from the Derry end in general but good to see a 17k crowd.

Thought pats made it hard for themselves by sitting back, Derry had some good chances after they fell behind. If pats had stuck at their own gaeme they wouldve won it handier as that's an average Derry team. McNamee gave them a little more impetus when he came on.

Although he had some nice passes Fahey didn't work very hard at all and spent half the game shrugging his shoulders.

Happy to see pats win it though, they deserve it after all the years of waiting.

Deadly video. That's what it's all about. Pats not at their best today but without doubt the better team on the day. Derry were disappointing up front.

On a side note what's the craic with Fahey? His post match interview was a bit rubbish. His boyhood club have just won an FAI Cup final. He's been lucky enough to play in the game and he sounds as if he couldn't give a shit.

I'm heroically hungover right now. Yesterday was amazing. Mates were there who don't usually go to LOI games.

I think the best team like won on the day. Derry genuinely looked they were looking for penos. Their best spell was when we went one nil up and that was due to us stupidity sitting back.

I seen a previous post that said Killian Brennan was the best player. I have no idea how that conclusion was found. He didn't turn up, same as Forrester.

The only Pats player who performed like we know them was Greg Bolger. He was superb. Christy Fagan as well of course with his two goals.

It was a poor final from a neutral aspect admittedly, but I don't bloody care.

    St Pat's won the cup!

Fair play to Pats, definitely the better team on the day. Agree with what Pighead said, Faheys post match interview seemed a bit strange, combined with his interview with Dan McDonnell (I think) the other day it doesn't sound like he's enjoying his time back in the LoI too much, wonder what he's going to do next year? I thought he had a bit more quality about him than all the other players on the pitch, some of the passes he played were fantastic. Greg Bolger a deserved man of the match all round though.

A mate was talking to him weeks back in the ALSAA. Hadn't a good word to say about the league. He's dying to get back to England.

Roddy embarrassed by standards in our league. Players not good enough to get into League Two in England apparently.

It's just Roddy's usual 'complain about the league in between my sackings' speil.
