Too many poor corners from Di Maria.
Set pieces could have saved utd today.

That is shocking from Di Maria

DiMaria's corners have been terrible today

City have been very poor. They're terrified of Felaini, who's being used like a Jack Charlton era Niall Quinn.

That's exactly who he's reminding me of.

UTd could easily have been 3 or 4 down in this match too. Its nothing to do with LVG that they aren't. The chips just fall that way sometimes.

Great game to watch as a neutral.

That was a savage United performance, especially with 10 men.

Two very average team displays out there today. Chelsea could win the league my 20 points if this is the standard that's going to be challenging them.

Christ city made hard work out of that in the end.

Have to say United did play decent enough today. What ifs and referee decisions aside to play most the game with 10-men against Man City and only lose 1-0 and put up a good fight is respectable.

Obviously getting points from this game would have been huge but then minute Smalling was sent off that always looked unlikely. I'm quietly confident front he display though. Wasn't great and some sloppy passing and set pieces but still showed signs of good football.

    Onwards and upwards.

You can't compare the ref not giving a yellow card with not giving at Least two pens and a red card.

    Get in City, well deserved.

Made hard work of a game they should have won easily

I don't know of that was Pellegrini, or the team shítting itself, but that was a v poor last 20 from City.

Very nervous win in the end but thoroughly deserved given that the ref bottled it a few times. Aguero the saviour again

Actually the game was very even up until Smalling decided to be an idiot, twice. Not bad considering we were without of our starting back 4 defenders. We also contested the game until the end despite being a man down and didn't assume the fetal position and let them treat the game like a training session.

City have now won 4 in a row Manchester derbies, first time since 1970.

He didn't have the lowest points total since 1986 after 10 games though did he? Or spend anything like what Van Gaal has. Moyes was poor but LVG has been no better.

City really stopped playing with 10 minutes to go. Could have cost them. Actually think they missed Milner when they took him off.

That said they should have had 3 pens so have to say they deserved it. Awful day for the ref.

Chelsea could not beat either of them sides. They struggled to a win yesterday. Chelsea aren't that good.

Lol at the Ref, pointing to his watch as if to say he will add on the delay in the throw, waves his arm in frustration then to hurry him up again,

Ball is thrown and he blows up.

No difference to the end result, but a nice end to his terrible performance.

Good result for Spurs and Liverpool.....and Southampton to be honest. The teams who fancy fourth will be happy with that.

City got one goal against a team with made up defence - handing on at the death - hardly champion material

Better team won, but without the sending off it would have been a better game. From a united point of view I'm very happy with Blind and Fellainis contributions. Thought Rooney looked decent too. Di Maria disappointed but he's proven class so I'm not too worried. The defensive situation is obviously an absolute ****ing disaster.

He was shocking today. Still no excuse for us more or less dropping anchor for the last 20 minutes though. Against a really decent side, that will cost us.

Absolutely gutless from City, they should have spanked United but were ****ting themselves at the end.

Wouldn't say never, di Maria had him at full stretch there after Rooney's good run down the middle in the second half.

Not our best derby win but we'll take it, 3 points is always the main thing :)

Back in your box if you cannot see now that performance (and last week against Chelsea) was not a 100 times better than anything Utd achieved under Moyes last year.

Not champion material, Chelsea will walk the league. But City should have had 2, maybe 3 pens today and it could have been very comfortable for them if the ref did his job properly.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 978 ✭✭✭Fudge You

13 points from 10 games is a joke.
Dont know why LVG is not getting stick like Moyes got.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,304 ✭✭✭madcabbage

Red card killed any chance for Utd. I'm still happy with Utds progress but the injuries are worrying. City were gutless, should have out Utd to the sword....regardless of the peno shouts! #winningugly

    8 wins, 2 draws.

We're pretty good, best in the league actually.

Chelsea will win the league. They already have a 6 point lead over us, and I can only see us dropping more points than them over the course of the rest of the season.

LVG takes the record that Moyes couldn't achieve, worst points total after 10 games, record that was previously held by fergie for 1986 season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,613 ✭✭✭IncognitoMan

Well Chelsea have nothing to worry about from this City side. Even with all United's problems they couldn't put the game to bed. Impressed with the way United reacted late on. Anyone who is calling for moyes is mental imo. Had he been in charge there we would have gone out with a wimper

The attitudes of the two managers are worlds apart. What manager goes and claims Utd aspire to be like Liverpool?

City knew what they were doing in the end. Toure missed two good chances in the final minutes and let's not forget Aguero's wastefulness before he eventually scored. Should have been more than a one goal victory.
