Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Rojo got the ball clear as day there, Jesus Christ.

Yaya could have easily stayed on his feet but another 50/50. United criminally lucky to be not down 2 or 3

Ref's afraid to give anything else to City.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

How did he not give that!! Got away with that big time. Can't see us getting anything from the game now anyway. Doubt smalling will get a game for the rest of this year anyway

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,868 ✭✭✭Andersonisgod

Oliver has bottled it twice now. Rojo is wrong side, he's caught Toure with a desperate lunge, he's stopped a clear goalscoring opportunity, it's a fairly clear penalty and red card.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,894 ✭✭✭Nolars

Smalling should be slapped by every player at half time what a tool

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,496 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

That was a penalty, ref copped out of a decision.

Jesus, second half is gonna be horrible. There'll be another Utd player to walk! :(

Hardly his fault. We're constantly giving away the ball in the final third as we're pressing up the field.

This. He has a remit to go forward and we're getting caught in possession stupidly.

United's players have been very ill-disciplined in general. Our defence is the root of our problems

Rojo got a foot on the ball but still not the type of challenge that's going to come off most of the time.

You think that kind of contact is conducive to a fall in the manner he did?

It was a foul wasn't it?

    And therefore a pen

The thing is, if Smalling wasn't sent off, at least one of those penalties would have been given. That's the way referees seem to go.

This referee needs to go back to refereeing school if you ask me

Oliver is having an awful season. Big mistakes in most games he refs. Completely bottled two pen decisons because he had already red carded Smalling.

Im a united fan but that last one looked like a peno to me. If it wasn't given for us I wouldnt be happy.

Smalling made two stupid decisions and gave the ref no choice. It's going to be extremely difficult to get anything out of this game now. Up until the red card I was quietly confident.

The backs need to calm down and be more careful with the tackles or there will be another red soon and city will run riot.

I guess all those penalties from the Spurs game a few weeks back are in his head

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,137 ✭✭✭✭TheDoc

Chris Smalling is an unbelievable idiot. I genuinely cant stop swearing at the TV. What a STUPID player. Absolute baby brain.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,868 ✭✭✭✭Strumms

Look at the first angle again.. Rojo comes between the defender and gets the ball.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,830 ✭✭✭✭Ace2007

Well, us Utd fans can't really complain about the ref anymore.....

    That's for sure!

If the ref was doing his job right then emotions wouldn't be ruining high - if clichy got s yellow for the first challenge - everything would be going down that wing to put pressure - but he got away with it - janazi was fouled again - no booking, RVP was takin out of it no booking -
Hart confronts ref - no booking

Get the initial decision right the rest does not happen imo

Ref having a nightmare; Rojo should be gone and two penalties should be gone to City, while Hart could have seen red (or at least a yellow), and Clichy and Jovetic got away with very cynical fouls (EDIT: and Zab should be on a yellow too).

On the United front, Rooney is utterly inept as a CM (his Hollywood passes are so predictable, and his short passing was poor at the start of the game), Januzaj was poor, DiMaria is being marked out of the game, Smalling was a disaster.

This could get bad for United...

The Ref is having an absolute stinker.

He has missed so much, but I think he has blinded himself by not being consistent.

I wonder will Sky review the Hart incident?

We should be down to 9 men and conceded two penalties.

Not a penalty for me, looked like Rojo got his foot to the ball before Toure went down. Wreckless, awkward looking, but not a penalty for me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,725 ✭✭✭✭blueser

Oliver having a poor game. Two penalties (and a second red card) not given so far.

2 stonewall penalties not given...Oliver having a shocker.

    Smalling had to go tho...idiotic.

Ref has had a nightmare so far. Very inconsistent.

Only thing he's got right is the Smalling red.

Yep, he's been piss poor. Only got that right because Smalling made it so easy for him.

City should have at least one peno as well, if not two. I say this as a United fan.

    What happened with Hart?

Nah what are you talking about, Rojo is the 2nd worst ever United signing after Shaw and must have got nothing on the ball and be sent off and a penalty given.

The sharks are circling in this thread something special :pac:

Navas teaching Shaw a lesson today
Maths, Irish? Because it's not a footballing lesson. Navas has done nothing.

Shaw has been wasteful going forward again though if that's what you're trying to say.

Admittedly they only showed the one replay but it is a contact sport last I rememberd... He came between the players gets got the ball and at the same time arguably the man. Never give a peno for that.

Stared right into the ref's face which is a red offence in my opinion.

Two penalties missed, Hart should be off, Zab, Jovetic and Clichy should be on yellow and God knows what else.

**** me this second 45 will suck.

Been the most energetic player on the pitch by far and has got the ball nearly every City attack.

He also got the ball, which should trump everything else when in the box imo. Is he supposed to just stand there and watch Toure score?

It is a peno by the book though.

    That's CLEARLY a penalty.

Some people are getting fairly desperate asking for a red for hart. It was an accident.
