Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

One of the worst games I have ever seen..

As a Pool fan I'm sick of watching these w*&*&^s this season - utter ****. And Rodgers has no ideas - need two up front and it doesn't matter that we only have Borini or Lambert. Mignolet has to be sold - if he was a horse he'd be put down. They are playing so poor it's not worth watching.

We have a 25million signing on the bench. Rogers needs to grow a pair, drop Gerrard and play Hendo and Allen with Lallana in front and my god get Johnson off and stick Manquillo on, id fancy my chances of beating him on that wing.

This is the worst game i have ever watched. I really hope rodgers changes something, we simply havent done a thing in attack. It seems like our gameplan when we get the ball is to man mark newcastles players.

The way liverpool are playing reminds me of united under moyes lots of possession but doing nothing with it

It's such a change from last years Liverpool. It's amazing the transformation that has taken place.

1st half was like watching two decrepit dykes scissoring.

That would get me off. This match however doesn't.

Rodgers seems to have totally abandoned attacking football - the difference from last year is absolutely staggering.

Rodgers ego needs a rap of a cold spoon. So arrogant of him.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,128 ✭✭✭NabyLadistheman

We are now a long ball team. It's embarresing. Joe Allen can't tackle or create. Whats the point. Is he playing on the wing? FFS. Johnson needs getting rid of. He is beyond woeful

Ballotelli completely isolated up front. Nobody within 20 yards of him most of the time.

    We never score early anymore.

    damning.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,473 ✭✭✭✭Super-Rush

    That was just embarrassing.

The players have to take some blame as well. The control and passing is so poor.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,325 ✭✭✭smileyj1987

Get two up top and attack them . This is beyond woeful !

Christ, even Savage can see we have no one running in behind, it's so obvious. Newcastle can afford to play a high line from midfield, the danger in behind is so absent.

Why is every pass we play 2 yards behind the receiving player?

Why is everything so sh!te this season?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,363 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

Also, that was as bad a half of Premier League football as you'll see.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,648 ✭✭✭mav79

Johnson had a good game at LB midweek and Manquillo solid game at RB so why change it up yet again?? Gerrard and Allen are offering nothing bar the odd 40 yard pass to an isolated Sterling.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,689 ✭✭✭bur

Gerrard, Henderson and Allen. Three centre-mids yet it looks like we have no midfield at all. Rodgers hasn't the balls to drop Gerrard, and Henderson has, bizarrely, worship status amongst the fans, so won't drop him either. Right mess.

There was a passage of play from Liverpool towards the end of that half that was actually one of the worst passages of play I have ever witnessed. 10-15 passes amongst the back four. No movement, then a Skrtel long ball into touch. Wonder what Rodgers is thinking. Players like Coutinho, Sterling and Ballotelli should be tearing Newcastle to ribbons.

    2 dreadful teams

Rodgers would want to take a long hard look at himself after that.

Sure beats watching the first half, tbh.

We have to put TWO up front , I fear if/when Newcastle score an utter collapse is on the cards , Newcastle are a poor enough side , we should be taking the game to them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,316 ✭✭✭kevohmsford

I don't know why Rodgers is being so stubborn with playing one striker.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,128 ✭✭✭NabyLadistheman

If Newcastle had any ambition at all they would probably have the game won by now. Pardew being very conservative

    This is malogen stuff

Sterling needs to piss of for a month and come back fresh
Liverpool have gone from being the best team to watch to the worst

He's not doing much wrong really, clearly told to stay out wide, gerrard and Johnson especially are not giving him much to work with.

I really really don't understand the one up front it's pathetic.

    Get Lallana on ffs!

Stuck a tenner on that Perez to score first. Just seems like something that will happen.

Both teams are. Newcastle want to sit back and attack on the counter. Liverpool look like they don't want to attack at all. Leads to a dire game.

It's so annoying people like Savage trying to bring the term 'quarter back' into football.

Jesus Robbie Savage is painful to listen to. Despite having no service and playing in front of a non-existent midfield, it's still somehow all Balotelli's fault.

    F*ck off Johnson.

Poor again from Glen Johnson getting caught with the ball.

  • Registered Users Posts: 674 ✭✭✭GotTheTshirt

What in the fk was Johnson playing at there? Christ.

    Nasty enough tackle there.

The Balotelli bashing from Savage is getting ridiculous.
