    Hi

I have been noticing for the last while that whenever i watched a video online (youtube) it stuttered, streaming is a no go, also gaming is an absolute no no. Ive searched the web for problem solving and everything i have done comes to ill effect. My computer runs at 100% usage when i even open a page on the internet until its fully loaded.

    Anyone any ideas?

When you say "no go", what exactly happens when you game?

Sometimes video streaming issues can be software related. Do you have a lot of Extensions (add on software that may include extra search bars etc. in your browser)?

Often a system can become unstable if a lot of dust has accumulated in the casing and fan ducts.

For software issues you could try download CCleaner and run the cleaner. It will remove unnecessary data that has accumulated and empty your recycle bin. Then download Malwarebytes , update database and run a scan. This should detect and remove malware that may be installed on your PC.

The game wont play, freezing constantly, ive done ccleaner anti virus, anti malware. I have reduced the amount of start up programs. I think i have to face the fact the computer isnt able to handle programs any longer being 5 years old.

You could download and run Ubuntu or another Linux distro to see if the underlying hardware is still sound. You don't have to install them as they can be booted up "live". If this seems to work I would consider reinstalling Windows. If you still have problems with the live CD I would check your RAM with memtest64 (I think it comes bootable on the Linux CD).

Should be okay still for basic use.

Try Malware anti malware and report back.

Ran the above program, no malware found as i had recently done one anyway. Made it a bit cleaner and i also deleted history removing everything. This helped for watching video's but cpu still running at 90/100% while video's is being played.

CPU temperature can also cause the cpu spikage. Download coretemp and note temperatures. Your Fans might need a good clear out from dust.

What process is using 100% in task manager?

Im with heisenberg on this, thermal throttling will prevent the CPU clocking up.

    Win XP or Win 7?
    What browser are you using?

press Ctrl, Shift, Esc all at the same time, to bring up Task Manager. Click on the Processes tab. On the bottom, there is a total processes number, what is it?
Can you list any process using more than 5% in the CPU column.
