Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Got my new GTX 980 TI card last week so decided to try beef up Skyrim some more.

Images below are 1440p using ENB,High Quality 2k Resolution Textures, Lighting/Weather Mods etc. And still getting between 50-60 fps with the game looking like the below.

Imgur actually reduces the quality of images so they look alot better before uploading too.

    I see you're using Plays.tv to record?

How is that? Is it any good?

On topic; I properly played some Total Annihilation: Kingdoms last night for the first time in, like, a decade. Finished a skirmish with 4 other A.I's against me and topped the lot of them :) Anyone who played PC games back in the late 90s & early 2000s and never played this really missed out.

Using Realvision ENB with the full recommended mods.

I think its WATER 2.0 along with enb texture replacers and colour replacers for the water. Have a few more pics to share later on :P

The ENB did look familiar, I used Realvision originally but switched to Natural Lighting & Atmospherics ENB as it wasn't as demanding but looked (to my taste) better than Realvision. It allowed me to run the game at 1440p as well!

To maintain the 120fps of course! I turn off most post-processing in games because of this. It's a super-fast game anyway so I don't notice the aliasing when I'm carving up the demons. Had to edit the HEX values of the .exe to turn off the damn motion blur.

I know. I play this game too much for my own good but it's so damn amazing.

Instead of spamming on a separate post I'll just update this one..

Here's a screenshot from Total War Attila. Graphically, I can't peak it well, but it looks decent for what I can get out of it. I don't play it often, I much prefer S2.

Hoping that changes with the guy who made Radeon Pro joining the team. I don't think AMD have a quarter of the money Nvidia do to develop software though. It's a pity because the in built GVR is a nice feature and the instant replay system is good.

Compare these with playing it on the rift is disappointing. For some reason you have to disable all shadows in the rift as they constantly flicker and jump about. Everything looks flat without them

Go into the .INI and edit a few of the shadow settings, turn them down a bit. I had a similar problem, not with the Rift, but that's how I solved it, I can't remember the exact setting though, sorry

A few decent rules from other screenshot threads I've seen are:

    1. You must name the game (and mods too if you wish)

    2. No quoting images as it eats bandwidth and no one wants to see the same image twice.

    Just a thought :)

Also pixel width limit of 1000 or so would save us from table breaking. The above 2560x1440 is bonkers, given that most people are on a 1920x1080 monitor. You can always link to bigger if you want.

Crappy forum has no auto resizing images or click to expand feature. I'll be fecked if I'm opening every one of my screenshots in paint and resizing them. Also they're 1920x1080.

Yes it's KiD and DMC4SE again.

1080p looks kinda small on my 1440p on my screen though, I can't imagine how small it looks on 4k. I think the sizes should be left alone so as we can make desktop wallpapers if we wish.

Must've been testing around with downsampling when I took that one. DMC4SE runs insanely well. My friend can downsample from 4K and still get absolutely consistent 60fps. I'm playing it on 120Hz monitor so I can't let it hover around the 80s like he can.

And yet you choose to distort the thread with your gargantuan pictures.

    For shame....FOR SHAME! :P

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,878 ✭✭✭Robert ninja

I don't choose to distort the thread with big pictures... the forum does it. And FYI in any other thread I wouldn't post high-resolution pictures like this and would consider resizing them. But seeing as how this is a video game screenshot thread, for PC, with "glorious" in the title I relaxed on that.

Every other forum I visit resizes images and then allows the user to click to expand. Even boards does it if you select the mobile site on the bottom! Look below and select "Touch Site". There you go, all the pictures resized for you. I have always and will always post screenshots as they are: From the source, at the resolution they were taken at. This is a non-issue elsewhere. It's solely because boards' desktop site doesn't handle images properly.

Making up rules to counter the forum's bad handling of images is not the way to go especially if it means we're gonna be stuck with low resolution screenshots. This a console screenshot thread?

Everyone in the photography forum can manage to downsample their 20MP+ images to 800px with a link to the original on pix.ie or Flickr. It won't hurt to downsample your puny 2MP or 8MP images too. Graphics are more realistic too...

Then everyone in the photography forum could also benefit from the touch site's native ability to resize images to the screen, too.
