Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Henderson, lallana, markovic & Guarin ? Guarin isn't overly defensive or even box to box, can't see any truth in this one.

Seems like Jones will be starting ahead of Mignolet according to a few journos on Twitter.

Also talk of Sterling, Coutinho and Markovic all starting as well. Possibly as a front 3.

    Rumoured team from where?

The only place i've seen that team is on one of the transfer rumours pages on Facepuke.

Might back Rooney to overtake Cole in the PL all time scorer list by Monday. He's only 9 behind.

You would actually think he wants out but doesn't want to go without the pay off.

Mig has been trying to bulk up this week in preparation for the big game.

Someone obviously threw that at him while facing him and not from either side of him.

I'm not sure sticking pins in his Rooney shaped voodoo doll is gonna help.

Is the Mig criticism not a bit unfair?

He has pulled off some very good saves in recent games, saves that lead to points.

He's made a couple of good saves but shouldn't that be the least we expect of a keeper?

How many times has he kicked the ball straight out of play, putting us under unnecessary pressure? Its actually getting funny he does it so often.

If top 4 isn't already gone, defeats today against United and against Arsenal next week will finish off any hope we've got.

And probably finish off any hope Rodgers has of keeping his job.

Two wins would be amazing but we haven't seen any signs we're capable of it.

I can see a draw today and a loss to Arsenal :(

If that was his only fault i could live with it, but when you add in shockingly poor in the air, no command in his area, poor decision making etc etc...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,056 ✭✭✭SuperTortoise

    Jones,
    Johnson, Skrtel, Toure, Moreno
    Henderson, Lucas
    Gerrard
    Sterling, Markovic, Coutinho

That's what i'd go with today, plenty of pace to worry a shaky utd defence

Ryan Babel ‏@Ryanbabel 2h2 hours ago

No Howard Webb today so will be difficult to predict innit? #jokes #LFC

I'd say you're goosed against Arsenal, they look a different animal with Giroud ( <3 ) up front. Actually feel LFC win or a draw the most likely outcomes today.
    :D

Is that still funny? Seems like Babel trying to seem relevant from over in Kasımpaşa :pac:

Jesus, Babel is still only 27. The "Babel era" seems so long ago.

Is Rogers trying a bit of a hit and hope with Jones. Somehow pull off a win and then attribute it to his tactical genius and ability to drop players when needed?

Is Brad Jones his hail mary pass? I'd be worried for him if it is.

No Mignolet, no Lucas and no Striker!!! This could be very bad!!!

I actually think thats promising for ye. At least Rodgers has changed something. Sterling up top aslike a false 9 could be a godsend

BBC confirm now that Jones starts.
Fcuking mental imo. I'm not a huge fan of Mignolet and I have joined problem with him being dropped or replaced, but Jones is not a good enough goalkeeper for this level. I get the impression The Rodgers is playing politics with some of this stuff, eh this, 'resting ' continho and lalana during the week, running sterling into the ground, skertl up front etc.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,931 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

At least there is strikers on the bench for a change.

Oh boy that rumoured team for tomorrow doesn't inspire confidence

    Jones
    Skrtel-Lovren-Johnson( centre back lol)
    Moreno-Allen-hendo-lallana-gerrard
    Coutinho-sterling

    Hopefully bull****

The line up was correct it seems, bit of a joke the club leaks info like that a day beforehand, the formation I guess we will have to see.
Feel bad for sakho and Manquillo. I'm all for trying something new but when skrtel and Johnson yet again remain untouchable from the first xi it's difficult to get excited.

Well you tend to live or die by these kinds of decision. Hopefully it works out!

Surely the time to drop Mignolet was a few weeks ago, and not after a few somewhat more solid performances.

Apparently there are a few photos circulating of Mignolet in flagrante. With a pear. No excuses in the lead up to a big match.

Brendan looks like he's digging his own grave her and trying to be too clever. No strikers? Still no Borini in the squad and Balotelli and Lambert on the bench? This could be a massacre.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,648 ✭✭✭mav79

Going to Old Trafford and leaving our only DM on the bench after a few solid displays is crazy!!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,316 ✭✭✭kevohmsford

Rodgers is finished in my opinion. Toure and Lucas were doing well.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,363 ✭✭✭JohnDaniels

Best of luck Brendan, it's certainly a bold decision even if I think it's completely mental. If Brad doesn't have a stormer the manager will get crucified.

I think he's trying to outplay Van Gal rather than the match.
