    Science Week 2014

SPECIAL LECTURE – The Bog Bodies Project: Latest Research

    Thursday 13 November 2014, 1-1.45pm

The special conditions in Ireland’s peat bogs have led to the remarkable preservation of bodies that date back over two thousand years. To mark Science Week, the National Museum of Ireland will welcome back Eamonn P. Kelly, former Keeper of Irish Antiquities, to give a special lecture on the Bog Bodies Project. He will discuss recent discoveries in the archaeological and forensic investigation of Ireland’s Iron Age bog bodies and what this information reveals about the lives of our ancient ancestors.

No booking is required for this free lunchtime lecture but places are limited and will be allocated on a first come basis.
We regret that this event is not wheelchair accessible.
Located in the Ceramics Room, first floor, National Museum of Ireland – Archaeology, Kildare Street, Dublin 2.
For further information on this event please email educationarch@museum.ie or phone 01 648 6334.
