Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

love those German players... they alway take the attacking player out in the centre of midfield..

Borini? Nah. All the hard work in the world can't conceal the fact that he just isn't a top level striker.

Better option than Balotelli at the moment!

The foundation of every great side. Brendan won't even hire a defensive coach.

Lucas, Can, Mignolet and Toure were brilliant.

Fair play to Liverpool on this performance. It'll be interesting to see the line up for Sunday.

He's right. Can and Lucas played well. Allen most certainly did not.

Overall this is a better result than I expected. Yes we lost and deserved to, but overall the approach by the team has been much better than recent PL games. We hunted them down all over the park and the defence looked much better (although some very dodgy moments).

If we performed like this every week we would get results in our favour.

I'd fancy our chances in the final if Madrid manage to get there.

Have you not been watching the match. ITV have said a million times over that if Liverpool win their final two games, they're through.

Think Basel will at least get a point out of Liverpool

Pool going into the Europa league would be great

Spirited performance but no threat on goal.

Borini huffs but is not a threat an does not seem to understand the offside rule. is energy might be better used as a ploy for Ballotelli than either up front on their own.

Asked a question? Wrong answer. And you spelt the name wrong.

2nd in the group is still a possibility??

Madrid were fairly shocking in the final third, on another day it's a battering. Liverpool did play quite well though considering the opposition.

Amazing , I just can't imagine hanging around the internet for near 2 hours waiting for Utd to lose to post a comment on it. A very strange mentality.

If we played like this every week we'd never score a bloody goal.

Context is everything. Was one of those games where Real knew they didn't have to play well to win. It was as tedious a game as it gets, Real were so superior in every department.

    What?..
Real dominated the game, got their goal and controlled, never really looked in danger of letting it slip, and never kicked out of first gear

Pool have 5 shots, only 2 of which were actually decent, and even then well Covered by Casillas.

Touré had a fantastic game, as did Lucas..

But to say Madrid played badly and didnt deserve the win is a giant step too far..

Far play to Liverpool thiugh, very impressive defensively

Pity we couldn't get an equalizer .

Guess we can all be very happy , we lost but we fought hard.
I think the side did very well tonight.

It was a valid question.. Are pool still in with a chance of progressing? And is it a decent one?

    No need for that response

Win last 2 games and other results are irrelevant. Last 16

Bleh, frustrating result. Overall, we played very well.

Migs made lots of vital saves, even if he should have caught a few rather than fist them.
Moreno was very solid with decent interception and looked good going forward. Manquillo was as good going forward, but shakier at the back, understandable considering he had Ronaldo on him.
Kolo was an absolute rock at the back, probably our MOTM.
Skrtel did decent, except for that horror pass which nearly resulted in us conceding in the first half.
Can was decent on the ball, but felt the game bypassed him a little when we didn't have possession.
Allen did ok, nothing awful, nothing very good either.
Lucas was his usual self, broke up quite a bit of play without offering much going forward.
Markovic was better in the second half, but still ineffective.
Lallana while good on the ball, lacks pace and really needs players in close proximity to link up with.
Borini worked his nuts off, but there is a lack of quality there.
