It's genuinely baffling and such a small-time mentality from Rodgers, sending a team out at the Bernabeu to lose. It's up there with the likes of Alardyce and Lambert sending out their second teams to get beaten in the FA Cup.

Very often when a team is given no chance at all, it can affect both teams. I could very well see us going down to a gutsy 2-1 defeat.

Now, I don't know too much about football. But I do know that the team being sent out is a squad of professional footballers. So all this negativity is unnecessary.

We need Ramos to be sent off in the first 5 minutes, and then Pepe come on and be sent off a few minutes later to have a chance. It's a total white flag of a team. Hopefully the other game will be a draw and we'll improve (although no basis for this) enough to get through.

I understand why the Pool fans are annoyed, but frankly, it strikes me Rodgers knows it was never going to be anything but a Real win, has accepted it and moved on to the next game. It's not abandoning the CL entirely; I'm sure he'll play a stronger team during the last two games. But Real have the top spot locked up, so why not rest players and focus on the bigger game Sunday.

First glance, I was surprised. Then I thought about how dreadful some of the players omitted have been playing, and I no longer see the issue.

Rodgers is showing faith in the likes of Borini, Can and Markovic. I hope they go out and work their socks off for him, and I believe that they will.

I'm just disappointed that I'll miss the game.

Regarding the strongest team thing. Uefa require teams to register a squad at the start of the tournament, as long as the team comes from this squad they can have no complaints imo
