Hi - Having just moved to the area, I am looking to pick up a few second hand pieces of furniture for my house.

I am also looking to buy a second hand telly that is only a few years old....

Any suggestions within the Southside of Dublin...

I don't have a car, but I may be able to borrow a friend's for a day or two.

    Thank you for your help.

They seem to have got a fair bit more expensive in the last year or so but its still worth looking in https://www.oxfamireland.org/shop/oxfam-home-francis-st you can get some decent bargains there the odd time.

You are not kidding! I went there last week.....old battered coffee table for 75 euros...wow.

Probably one of those places to keep checking in on.

    Thank you!

Yeh you have to go pretty frequently because there are so many people doing that and getting the cheap things straight away. You used to be able to pick up decent small things for a fiver no so much any more!

Try Herman Wilson in Rathmines. Some furniture can be cheap

Haven't been but we stock a range of paint that is favoured by the upcyclers and our customers speak very highly of the place! We always mean to go but have never found the time!!

    Hi,
Try some of the charity shops in Francis Street in Dublin.
Also you can try Brocante market https://www.facebook.com/thebrocantemarket

Yeah been there a few times as a bit of a jaunt.

If I was looking for furniture it's well worth a bit of time.

Don't SVDP have a place off Gardiner St where they sell secondhand furniture? Get stuff cheap and support a charity at the same time!

I'm surprised no-one thought of Christy Bird's yet:

I used to go to Merchant's Yard when they used to have auctions but now its mainly boots. Its a great place if you like second-hand everything!

There is what appears to be an Argos clone of an IKEA Billy there for €92...

You get more sane sellers on adverts than that even!
