Sorry I had to laugh. I just noticed that you're the moderator of the vegan and vegetarian forum but you eat bacon fries and prawn cocktail flavour crisps. Maybe you're not a vegetarian but I got a good chuckle out of it :D

Lol I was gona mention that, those are all vegan, surprisingly a lot of the meaty flavours are more likely to be vegan. Most crisps are vegetarian, it's usually milk in the ingredients that makes them non-vegan. Probably the only time bacon or prawn is mentioned in the house all right :D

Aye, multipacks are smaller, unfortunately. Usually bags are around 25g whereas bags bought seperately are usually between 35g and 50g.

O'Donnell's C&O & Hunky Dorys Buffalo are would currently vie for my favourite. Have also been very impressed with Tesco's own brand S&V (not the standard "everyday value" ones, think they're labelled as hand cut or something similar). Seriously good value at €1.39 for a large bag & as good as many of the premium brands imo.

Never got the fascination with Tayto, they always tasted meh to me. Plus in the old days, you used to get a lot of small black incinerated crisps in the bag. A packet of King cheese and onion are on another level entirely.

Anyone remember the short lived Tayto Flamethrower Chilli? Even Google doesn't remember them. Serious crisps.
    Pub Crisps. Serious.
King C&O (of course) but also King S&V

Ah here, I could go on all night.

O Donnels or Keoghs. Jaysus they're lovely.

Have you ever tried to make you own crisps?

Get a couple of fine spuds (maris piper) and a v-slicer. Slice up a few paper thin slices of spud. Let the slices set for a few hours in water to remove the starch. Dry them and into the fryer or oven for a bit (3 mins). When they turn a golden brown they are ready. Add your desired toppings and off you go and munch.

Never tried it myself but let me know how you get on :pac:

I worked with a chap from Mayo, was fierce fond of his "hunky dory tayto crips" .

Tayto cheese and onion should be getting about 90% in this poll.

    I suspect voter fraud!

You never meet these people in real life though. Thats why theres alway 2 lonely packs of Smokey Bacon left in the multipacks (the 3rd one being fobbed off to some poor dumb child or a drunk friend at 3.30am)

Tayto/King/Perri cheese and onion are the same product, all made by Largo Foods.

Saw a blind test carried out by a Largo employee on 5 mates who argued with him that they were all different and that they could tell the difference, even though he worked there.

Not one of the 5 could tell which was which.

Well, if I'm just having a packet of crisps. its Hunky Dorys Buffalo flavour.. but King crisps in between two slices of bread together with cheese and mayo and oh look at that, saliva all over my keyboard.

Honourable mention to Hot Lips, havent had them in years!

    Tayto (Cheese and Onion)

But they are the only thing I like from Meath.

I boycott beating buying/eating Tayto during the Leinster championship out of guilt.
When Dublin play Meath I switch to Walkers crisps (King would sound too Royal and Hunky Dorys are the same company as Tayto so I avoid them too just in case)

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Those big bags of tayto bacon fries. Nothing like it for soaking up a few beers.

Also those Aldi "gourmet" ones, I forget the specific name but they're in a creamy coloured bag and made by snackrite.
