Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

That must have been a depressing match for City fans to get through.

As bad as City where that was a seriously poor fcuk up by the ref for the CSKA yellow card, could have made a huge diff going back to 10 v 10

    Nasri might have walked.

Yeah true but if it goes 10 v 10 and City get moving then maybe Toure and Nasri don't get worked up

That said they've only themselves to blame tonight

Why is Man City struggling so much in European competitions even though they have fairly decent players?!!!?

This group is ridiculous. City could very well go through by only wining 1 game and ending up on 5 points.

If Roma and CSKA draw the next game, which is a decent bet and City don't get hammered by Bayern, beating Roma by a couple with CSKA losing to Bayern on the last day and theyd be through,

EDIT: City are 2 goals better off than CSKA and Roma, so a 1 goal defeat and a 1 goal win coupled with Roma and CSKA draw and assuming Bayern beat CSKA puts city through on 5 points and a -2 GD. Crazy.

The age of city's squad and been hamstrung by ffp will see this team go into decline very quickly.

I actually think the ref felt sorry for them otherwise Nasri would defiantly got a yellow.

Rte need to start having their younger pundits on for every match they show, Cunningham is nothing special but he does have the ability to actually discuss modern tactics unlike Brady and rest of the older pundits.

Romas effective goal difference is a lot better than what you say there.
Under your scenario the 3 teams would finish on 5 pts and it would go to head to head goal diff, not overall goal diff, so Romas 1-7 v Bayern wouldn't count.

Forgot they've been using that. I was never a fan of head to head. Standard GD is fairer imo.

Toure should have gone before the mixup, hauled your man down by the shoulders, it was a clear second yellow offence.

Eh, Aguero and Silva in their prime means they probably have the 2 best players in the league for a few years yet unless they were to jump ship which doesn't look likely.

Which Yaya turns up makes a big difference to the way City play, which shines an even worse light on him to be honest. He was hopeless tonight as CSKA players passed around him. I would say he was left chasing shadows at times but chasing would imply he ran a bit.

Will goal difference come into play if City and CSKA are level on points or will if be down to results of the head to head games ?

Yeah it was a poor performance from City and they are finding it tough in Europe but christ the media is making a huge thing out.

Just because they spent a few quid it doesnt mean they will be challenging for everything.

A few quid? They have spent an enormous amount of money in recent years and fail miserably each time in Europe. It's obviously going to be questioned and discussed.
