Your training is fascinating, I find myself thinking quite closely about your paces and distance without the 'advantage' of additional commentary. Almost musical, like a crescendo....

    HUH! (Surprise)
, I find myself thinking quite closely about your paces and distance without the 'advantage' of additional commentary

    I run alone,sometimes hilly(feels like always),sometimes fast,sometimes with music.
I saved a sheep from certain death once and ran around my garden for 3hrs 'cause I couldn't get a babysitter but generally nothing out of the ordinary ever happens.
    I just run.
    crescendo....

    A progressive increase in intensity
    "A crescendo of misery"
    (Yes I googled that)

 How big is that garden, Ed?

Just looked it up on garmin connect. can't post a link yet but if I remember later on I will.

    20.5 miles
    3 hrs 34 min
    10.26 min.mile
IIRC a lap was either .06 or .08 of a mile.
I included one lap of the neighbours garden but a steep hill at the front stopped me from any more.
    The constant corners were tough.

I assume you mixed it up by reversing direction every now and then. :)

Wouldn't you know it, we do have something in common. :)

I changed once found it odd and changed back after a couple of laps. Turning left was more comfortable than turning right.

I totally agree but if you think about it running on a treadmill is even crazier(that's what I'm telling myself anyway).

I came across a sheep that had its head stuck not only between a set of gates but in the loop of the rope holding the two closed.
It was lunging forward only to tighten the noose and pulling backward only to close the gates even further over and over.
I ran straight over to it expecting even more panic but it became very calm allowing me to set it free.
    That was that.
I continued on my run to the roars of the crowd and high fives, some might say the ticker tape was a step too far but I deserved it.*

    * this part may be a figment of my imagination.

In an attempt to motivate myself I was aiming to hit 3000 miles for the year.
The previous 9 days I covered over 100 miles but felt an old overuse injury coming so gave today a rest which snowballed into a lazy week in the end.

Good to see you back logging. I'm also doing attempting Conn ultra so will hopefully meet you in Connemara in April!
Good luck with the training and goal.

Yeah the ultra race briefing is fairly intimate. I'll keep an eye out for you there (you posted a photo on your log a while back IIRC). Your trainings going well. Conn is a fantastic course. Good luck.

I wasn't intending on doing conn. at all until recently, but I feel drawn to it for some reason. I've old friends living in connemara also whom I love to see.
