Family business and the fact I wanted to see my physio, Friday, before attempting any great runs meant what I could get done was at easy pace just to test the knee until a diagnosis.
Luckily it seems it's more the ITB pulling on the knee rather than a knee issue.
So just extra stretching and some foam rolling.
Better undertrained than over I guess.

Couldn't get out Monday, niggle in my lower back/coxis so figured it was for the best anyway.
10 on Tuesday went well, ITB in good shape and back felt ok.
Woke up Wednesday in pain. Discomfort and pain standing, sitting and lying down, turns out I bruised my coxis. Can't remember an incident when this might have occurred though.
Managed 3 on Friday just to test things and felt really good again.
Unfortunately i'd arranged a nixer Fri,Sat ,Sun to earn a few extra quid for Athens so couldn't make hay on the renewd fitness.
Hopefully get a couple of medium long runs in over the next couple of days as a mental exercise more than anything.
    I'm still optimistic about Athens.

Don't sweat it Ed. Endurance ultras are much more about your long term preparation rather than your immediate lead in. I did one 6 day race where my first steps in the race was my first time running in 6 weeks. Still managed to compete well. So approach Athens with confidence!

How's the back, Ed? Will you be ok to run?

Unfortunately my back is.....100% and I've no excuses for a poor run.
    Previous goal still applies.

Haha, brilliant! All the very very very best!

I saw the list of participants and it seems there are lots of Irish running! Should be a fantastic weekend. Have a blast! Not sure we'll be able to track you??? But will try!

I'm hoping to keep it to 10 min miles from the beginning and to run non stop for as long as I can, even pace.
Should be fairly easy, I hear 24hr races are "overrated".😉

Legs were good, pacing was where I wanted but ribs on both sides began to hurt at 10:30hrs. Eventually reduced to a walk and pulled out at 13hrs.
I didn't see any benefit in continuing.
Plenty of core on the next cycle.
