    Next goal is Belfast 24.

I'd a 12hr race planned in a couple of weeks but it got cancelled, probably for the best as i'd only have been punishing myself for poor training.

Although I would love to run a pb in connemara, I won't decide about entering until after Belfast.

So three weeks after my last log update and things have finally started to turn in the right direction.
My lsr with Enduro was a turning point were I felt my knee was just fine as long as I kept the pace very slow and avoided hilly routes. I met him at 1:30am in Strabane and ran through Derry to Muff where I left him at about 5 or 6am. Far to early to phone the wife for a lift I ran back through Derry into Carrigans and to St.Johnston getting there around 730/8am where she collected me on the condition I got coffee hot chocolate and pastries in the petrol station for the rescue party on arrival. I'd left my watch in my car in Strabane so no idea of distance but a very good time on feet run.

Since then my knee is almost back to 100%. I got a new pair of runners, kept all runs fairly flat and above 8min mile and lost 9lbs to date all of which have helped me get to the end of a good weeks training.

80 miles this week over 6 runs. Energy levels are great and a 24/18 BtoB this week is a nice starting point to build some miles over the next 5 weeks before taper.

Next weeks plan is a 4hr BtoB followed by a recovery week then build over three more weeks before taper.

Ed, wishing you the very very best of luck for Saturday and Sunday. Looks like the weather is in our favour (if not our crews' as I'm sure they'd prefer a nice sunny day!) but shouldn't be too bad all the same for them. Looking forward to meeting you again and your crew. See you Saturday!
