Those matches where you pull it back in the last few seconds to win are joyous. Granted, that goes for any game, but I really felt it in this because it usually came from an idea, rather than MOAR KILLZ.

I don't really like those games. It seems like a lot of player ignore the objective until the last second when that happens. I'm just thinking why we didn't do this before. What were they doing the whole time.

I'm talking about games where both teams are just really good, but one let it slip at the end and the other team takes full advantage.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,160 ✭✭✭tok9

The matches where the payload is 2.5m away from the goal and you are defending all out just to push it back any bit.

It's so good when you manage to destroy the other team and see it reverse :p

    Missed the beta.

Is this gonna be one of those games where you have clans of 6 lads who play regularly together and destroy makey upy match made teams or will this game suit the likes of me who is tempted by it and would dip in and out therefore for the most part if not always be using a match made team?

The game looks fantastic visually I must say. And I like the concept even though it's nothing massively new it looks to be executed nicely.

Again haven't played though. So sick I missed the beta.

Blizzard is one of the few companies that will actually really take their time developing a good product rather than trying to pump out half arsed titles one after another. Haven't tried Overwatch yet but looks really promising! The gameplay vids on youtube really look fun.

I didn't get a chance to play it but was able to watch a few twitch streams.

Love the colour and the characters. Looks great.

Yeah same here. Mostly checking out Youtube clips. The game is really well paced and seems also very well balanced! Should be great fun!

Depends on the popularity and what blizzard want to do. If the game is very popular, then there will be scope to fragment the player pool with more divisive game modes. Hopefully that will mean separate solo-matchmaking, team-matchmaking and unranked (like the beta). That will allow you to avoid the above scenario you describe entirely.

Couldn't agree more with this. Hopefully they balance this out well. But Blizzard is usually known to do so. Good example would be Starcraft. They never let their player base hanging. Or at least I have never heard so.

Hope to have the game on Saturday, but I take it the servers will not be live till around 08.00 GMT on Tuesday like previous Blizzard releases.

Give us a personal review will you? Unless you won't manage to get off the game for 5 minutes :p

The release code will be 99.9 % identical to what we played in the open beta, very little has changed for months now apart from minor tweaks here and there and balancing heroes.

Apologies if this was already posted, Mac giving his opinion on whether it's worth a buy (NSFW language as usual):

Regret not spending more time with during the beta but seriously tempted to pick it up. €40 seems decent enough for something that looks like it will last quite a while.

Bit disappointed with that, surely thought they would have addressed some of the complaints people had.
I'll end up getting it anyways though

Well I'm hoping there will be options to select which game mode you want to play etc, there should also be ranking tables etc . But the core visuals and gameplay etc will more than likely be the same.

    I wonder if (I'm already guessing it's a no)...but...in hope....I wonder if it's really successful...that it might inspire Valve to make TF3.

TF2 is 9 years old at this stage, and Overwatch has basically just taken 2 popular game-modes (Assault / Control) and then just copied TF2's Payload (Escort)

**I'm guessing TF2 was the first to popularise this mode, as I never seen it before that game, and I'm guessing the other 2 were about in various formats in other games under different names**

TF2 still has even more gametypes than this, it has the server browsers, gametype options, server settings(32players), custom servers, the 9 unique characters, humour and HATS.

Also in fairness they STILL put out amazing content and event at Haloween and other special events. Mann VRS Machine was/is amazing...completely changed up TF2 for a while.

They could easily build on what they know and update the graphics, add new characters and put out something to rival/beat Overwatch.

I wish they would. TF is such a blast and crazy addictive!

You're assuming Valve can count to 3.

People, really! Nobody has not answered my question yet. If problem is real - nobody who's on Eircom fiber will not be able to play Overwatch!

    1. This is not an Eircom/Broadband help thread, so no need to go at other member with "people...really !!" . Many of us aren't on Eircom and many are also playing the game on consoles.

    2. Obviously this isn't the case, as DCully just mentioned he had no problems and noone else here who played really seemed to complain at all.

    3. You said it's at the end of beta...so maybe something changed within that time as they're coming to a close.

    4. We can't really check for you at the moment as the game isn't on release.
Can you not wait for 1 week after it's release and see how many people have problems, IF they even have problems with it ?

    5. For Eircom broadband related issues there is a talk to Eir customer support forum here at
    http://www.boards.ie/ttfthread/2057498762

I REALLY CANT WAIT TO PICK THIS GAME UP.......2nd hand €70 is far too expensive imho on ps4

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,347 ✭✭✭✭Grayditch

I wouldn't pay that for any game. Overwatch is about €55 euro on Amazon, lads.

    1. But this is a thread, where people playing Overwatch. And I need info - does somebody had this problem? I have anoter guy from Cork, who had same problem as me. But if i't only a some regional problem - I always can use VPN.

    2. That's what i'm asking actually.

    3. It is not. And they can't change something in eircom routing.

    4. I had a problems, and huge problems not be able to play Overwatch 3 last day of the beta. This will be a very plesant experience at the start of the game, if I will meet same problems. But yes, if it will be problems for like 100 people in some Eircom branch - who cares?

    5. Thank you, I already have a tiket created, but Eircom doen't care. They don't know even what MTR is.

Anyone know when the reviews or review embargo is up for this?

Reviews out there already, nothing major will change from beta to release hence how reviews are available.
