You could get a credit card and then charge the trip to the card and pay it off over time?

Short of borrowing from Wonga or your local neighbourhood moneylender, that would be the most expensive way to pay for a trip to NYC or just about anything.

Holiday loan from your Credit Union?

If you're paying in installments, you're basically 'saving up' - therefore why not save up in a savings account instead? (your savings will also earn a bit of money too)

Book with American Holidays / Tour America - you pay a deposit but the balance doesn't have to be paid until 8 weeks before you depart
