How would you restructure the RTE budget to air 4 extra episodes of Love/Hate a year?

So tonight is the last episode in a series that seems to come and go too fast every year. Its a show that apparently RTE have yet to make any money on which I find very strange.

Maybe it could be sold to more international markets if it had a structure that these channels were used to. As in 10-13 episodes per season.

The show costs 600k an episode so where could they get an extra 2.4 million a year in an ideal world?

    Here's my take on it:

Scrap a few episodes of The Late Late Show per year. Im not saying do away with it altogether as it is a big ratings winner, but its run seems to go on far too long every year.

The same with whatever shíte passes for their Saturday night equivalent these days. I couldnt even tell you who presents it let alone what its called. But 3-4 shows per season being scrapped will help towards the 2.4 million in this scenario.

Winning Streak. Another big ratings winner but, again, a few cuts could help Nidgy & Co. go on longer every year.

    Over to you.

How would you restructure the RTE budget to air 4 extra episodes of Love/Hate a year?

    Scrap Fair City?

Or better still, amalgamate the 2.
Nidge drinking his pints in McCoys, maybe having a fling with Carol.
Fran could kill off Leo and Jo by banging their heads off each other, repeatedly, until Carrickstown is a sea of red.

    Just a suggestion.

kill off one of the cast of Fairly Shi**y each week, Leo's ex-Russian wife could come back with the Russian mafia, Nidge and Fran to join forces. leave Leo until last, plus his body would have to be burned.

    because he's so wooden :D

Id restructure the budget by scrapping Fair City. I don't mind if they fill the schedule with the 200th showing of Reeling in the Years 1975.
