Switching running surfaces

    Hi,

I'm running most weeks 20-30 miles depending on work schedule but it's all been on grass. My LSR reached 8 miles last week.

Now I'm looking to switch some of my runs to the road so I can run a few events. (did a few HM's before).

Question is how long should my first run be on road? I don't want to end up getting an injury.

There's no science behind it, but why not start at 5k and work up from there?
