It was in the first message from PAS after the shortlisting was announced. Around 11/07/2016

I was shortlisted and interviewed this week for infrastructure only and I didn't get a number at any stage. I asked about my number on panel and she said If I get past interview I'll get my order for merit

Looks like infra only shortlisting were not given a number as was the case with me. Like Sup08, I was given a shortlisting number for the Dev stream

What did ye bring for the interview, just your application form or a copy of your CV also

Just the application form which was a waste of effort as you prob will not have time to look at it in there..

  • Registered Users Posts: 140 ✭✭crossbeauty

just application form which they didn't want or need so I just left it on desk
and didn't even look at it during interview. Didn't need to bring anything else.
    good luck

They give you a copy of your application form etc at the interview- which you can refer to (if you wish).

I don't think they always do this. I know I wasn't given one the last couple of times out. They request you bring it in case you want to refer to it but...

no they didn't give me a copy. I had a copy of mine they had their tablets with a copy of my form on it.

They've obviously changed their modus operandi- I've never seen any of them with tablets before (and indeed, a lot of the people who conduct the interviews, wouldn't know what to do with a tablet if it came up and bit them.......) Progress.........

I know it's only a week since the development results but has anyone heard about a placement yet?

  • Registered Users Posts: 169 ✭✭xECompanyx

Not a thing. I asked PAS could they give me an indication of where I might lie on a panel for my own County? Just got the standard pfo reply. Your order of merit is on a nationwide panel, there are currently no panels for individual counties. Short and sweet, no other indications or information. Too early, must try a little patience I suppose.

Hello, has anyone been offered a job in the EO ICT(Development) panel for Dublin or Regional yet? Haven't heard anything since getting notification of the results on 17th August last. Just trying to figure out how quickly or slowly the panel is moving. Thanks

    Hi,

Same boat. On Regional panel, not a word since initial notification. I would imagine the infrastructure interviews have just completed with the results due out shortly. Perhaps both panels need to be in place before there's any movement?

The description isn't tied down sufficiently- do they expect someone with hands on experience- and if so- in what technologies/software/development etc

Are you to expect to have a team of staff reporting to you- and if so- what is your role towards them (aka could you end up tearing your hair out doing people's leave requests etc etc)

I know these are all the type of things you could ask in interviews- however, the lack of a suitable description is one very good reason for not applying (having worked as a HEO in the past- where my daily duties were not on the role profile for the post...........)

I didn't read it, as it is not for me - but I wouldn't expect to have a large team in a small organisation like that. It is likely to be a small shop managing external providers, I would guess.

Hi , I know this is a late and probably a silly question but can someone tell me how the regional panel work/ would work for the development job. I had a discussion and now I'm second guessing myself ! Thanks ! Like are there multiple panels for all the regions and how many region s are there etc ?

I emailed PAS briefly on this. Your order of merit is on a nationwide panel. It's all on when your number is reached and if there's a vacancy in your area. There are no individual panels per County

That's what I thought alright thanks for that ! I was saying this to someone and they were contradicting it so I began to question myself !

Knowing PAS they could change this and look at County level but it's nationwide for the moment.
