Thanks @xECompanyx, what you said about all the panels makes some sense alright. Doesn't make the waiting any easier though.

I know its a little early, but has anyone heard any results from the infrastructure panel for Dublin??

nope not a thing. Would be surprised to hear this week, possibly next?

well done . I'm in the fifties.

The regional panels you have to wait until a position comes available, the Dublin panel, all candidates placed on the panel will get a job.

    Well done everyone!!

I made the Dublin panel as well in the 40's , so I have to make a decision on either Development or Infrastructure.

Got the into the 20's on development panel Dublin

Didn't get on the panel for the infrastructure which doesn't surprise me as all my experience is in development. I have no clue of IT Networking etc. I got placed low 20s on the development panel regional so here's hoping..

Hi I would be happy to take it. I was unemployed at the start of the recession for 1 year. I went back to college that year and then got a job with eircom and continued to study in the evenings and at weekends. I have an honors degree and have moved to a major multi national in the last few years. I am on more than is on offer but I also remember my year or unemployment, it was tough as we have a mortgage and kids.

I will be happy to take a recession proof job & I believe I am in my right mind.

I'm on the Dublin panel only and got my results too.

AFAIK your place on the panels remains the same for both regional and Dublin if you selected both.

Me too would be delighted to get something out of this. Trying to get out of dublin down the country where I am now based with my family and where there are very few IT roles. Currently commuting a ridiculous amount of hours and away 2 nights a week from my kids.

Same as myself. Was unemployed and in and out of jobs since the recession. In public/civil service for 4 years now and could earn a lot more in private sector. The personal life, family life and the security of these positions are what I want now.

Dont forget the pension, you would have to be contributing a whole lot more to make up the pension you get in the public service in the private sector.

Public Service pension is still a large chunk of the weekly / fortnightly wage, 3 sizeable deductions. It ain't all candyfloss and sugarcanes..

I am in the public service for 10 years at Grade 3 (C/O) in truth my pension deductions are less then €150 a month. When I was in the private sector I got quotes for a basic pension and in reality you would need to be putting in a whole lot more than that to get a pension anywhere close to the public service one.

Didn't DPER announce that some of the cuts are going to be slowly reversed giving back some of the monies to CO's over 2 years. Roughly to the tune of €2000?

Didn't hear that. All grades I presume, not just CO

From the DPER Budget 2016 announcement by Mr. Brendan Howlin T.D. found here

    Lansdowne Road Agreement
The Lansdowne Road Agreement typifies our commitment to responsible expenditure management. Legally, pay reductions in the Public Service were predicated on there being a financial emergency. Thankfully, those emergency days are behind us. Therefore, an orderly unwinding of the financial emergency legislation which reduces pay is the prudent and correct thing to do. Moreover, as economic growth returns and private sector wages increase, it is only right that our nurses, Gardaí and teachers see their take home pay improve. During the crisis, their sacrifices allowed us to sustain our public services.

Efficient public services are essential to a modern society. When we came into office, reform of the Public Service was a key component of our strategy to meet the enormous challenges we faced. I am proud of the considerable reforms that we have delivered since 2011. I want to commend public servants for their effort and commitment in this regard. I believe that the implementation of our Civil Service Renewal Plan and the wider programme of Public Service Reform will continue to play a key role in Ireland’s recovery.

Unwinding the financial emergency legislation can only be done in a way that does not jeopardise the public finances. We learned the hard way that sustainability is key. Pay levels – like the public finances themselves – need to be managed in a responsible, sustainable way, with the long term interests of the country at their core.

Thanks for that, hopefully not all pie in the sky from Pascal. Had a meet and greet with him recently, we're slowly but surely being taken over by DPER with PSSC and pending FMSSC projects..

    - C/Os come out worst in public service pensions, as you'll be lucky to get anything at all over the contributory OAP for your €150 per month
    - Public service pensions are at the discretion of future governments, who can cut them at the drop of a hat, as they did in Greece - at least with a private sector pension, it is your money.

I also got on the panel for Infrastructure regional with a fairly low number.
Have we any control over where we get the offer for area wise? It didn't come up in interview as to a preferred area, is it just pot luck?

Is it true that if you are existing public servant they have to put you on your current point on pay scale ie you dont go back to starting point? Does that mean for example if you work for hse now and are offered this post you will go higher up payscale?

    And only one of which you will see when you retire. The spouse & child pension only becomes payable if;
    a. You have a spouse/child
    b. You die while still in the service

...and no opt out clause. Madness.
