i am thinking of either getting some soft boxes or make some up myself for a continuous setup. more than likely i'd use the light setups for videos, and the odd picture. i like strobist setups mainly for pics, but that doesn't work for video.
have you any recommendations for bulbs that could be purchased locally, instead of internet?

i was looking in a hardware shop today and they had lumens and watts listed.. but from what i've read, you need a high CRI .. and i didn't see any CRI numbers listed on the packaging. fairly new to this kinda thing.. so if anybody could pass on a few tips about bulbs, i'd appreciate it :D

Fist time I read your post I thought why you want a bulb with a high Child Rescue Ireland (CRI), too many dam acronyms :P
A quick be of googling says
The colour rendering index (CRI), sometimes called colour rendition index, is a quantitative measure of the ability of a light source to reveal the colors of various objects faithfully in comparison with an ideal or natural light source.
and that a higher CRI number is better, max is 100. You learn something new every day.

If you are looking for something a little specialist / out of the ordinary it might be better to try an electrical wholesaler rather than a hardware store.
