Bought a cheap fibre optic christmas tree from argos, and there is one strand sticking out about 6" beyond the tree. Can I cut some of it off and will it still work.

They're not real fibre optic..just plastic conducting light. Cut away...no power in them.
anyhow real fibre optics only carry laser or LED light.
