Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Anyone know a good car that's ideal for first time drivers? Say easy to control moderate speed ,good braking and good in wet and icy conditions not to mention reasonably priced that's at most 12 years old

Pre mid 03 Yaris doesn't have ABS.
Aygo/c1/107 might be a good bet as you can pick up 05s for 02 yaris money

Agree. Bullet proof. Just fuel it and drive.

Yeah but the mk1 yaris is miles ahead of an aygo in most departments.

K11's were reliable but not bullet proof, well UK built EU models weren't anyway. Jap imports were better. Poor resistance to corrosion makes finding a good example difficult these days. Underbody corrosion+ corroded sills and front cross members is becoming increasingly common on these.

K12's were introduced after Reno's takeover. These are not like the Micra's of old. Build quality and reliability is only average on these.

Agreed, but the OP specifically wants good brakes. In a small car, good brakes = ABS.
