    Hi guys,

Bf isnt from Dublin and hes coming to stay for a couple of days in December. We won't get to spend Christmas together so we want to go out for the day and make it as special and christmassy as possible!!!

Any ideas for a nice day out that will include lunch.

    Cheers!

Take the 130 bus to the Christmas Kingdom in St Annes Park, Raheny:

Either grab lunch at one of the stalls or else check out some of the local restaurants for lunch - I'd suggest booking if going at weekends.

Bay Restaurant is a short walk along the coast from St Annes (back towards town):

On a Sunday, lunch in Wongs is an option also, it's right beside the park.

What's your idea of a good lunch?

Thanks! Meant to say preferably city center.

Anything really, somewhere cosy and Christmassy

I really like inside Bewleys on Grafton Street, the back section has super architecture, and decor.

I'd imagine it would be done up for Christmas

for lunch the Green Hen in Wicklow Street is good value, but book fast
another good place is the Kitchen next door to Mulligans' of poolbeg street. You can bring your own wine, and also if you are drinking in Mulligans you can bring your pints in

Well I have heard the Christmas market at St Stephen Green is good. First years its going there this years. Free and open from 12-8pm each day. This may be done after lunch considering its opening times.

You could get in out of the cold just down Grafton St and grab a coffee and chill out a little bit and warm back up. Good to have a stroll around St Stephen Green also and take it in a bit. Grafton St is nice all lit up in the evening.

In terms of lunch if it is a weekend I would go for a brunch at lunchtime. A lot of restaurants have stunning brunch menus at the weekend. A favorite of mine would be Whitefriar Grill which would only be a 5 min stroll from Grafton Street.

Another interesting idea would be to do a walking food tour in Dublin. I have heard of the company in link below but never done. Could be good to roam around and taste different foods and take in the atmosphere.

If you want to get very into it could go see the Christmas Show with the Snowman and the National Concern Hall. I am sure this will be a busy event.
