Sure nothing's enda's fault is it?
As leader of the country he's seen massive cuts to social services across the board, including homeless projects and drug treatment facilities.

Sure it couldn't be his fault, what with him being a gormless piece of sh1t.

    So everything is his fault?

Massive cuts?? The Xmas bonus is back this year, the dole hasn't been cut.

I was looking for the source, for all I know Direct Democracy are making it up.

What's it supposed to be, an email from Kathy Sinnott?

I'm not one for actually believing much that DD says, and by their permitting of leaving a comment on their site which advocates shooting Alan Kelly, I'll remain suspicious-

Video that explain how GMC are installing meters at the rate they are illegally.

Saw that earlier alright and very well done by the residents. It's entertaining watching the foreman's arrogant repeating of "contact Irish Water" change into the look of a scolded child when he realises the guy questioning him knows exactly what he's talking about and won't be fobbed off.

Fair play to the residents involved. That's exactly how to deal with them.

There's nothing much improved where I'm living. I dunno what planet you are living but I'm still seeing job losses and empty pubs.

You see FG members and their supporters have been convinced, dare I say brainwashed to believe what their leader tells them. It's almost cult like. They aren't allowed to think for themselves or have their own opinion.

No different to any party that is in government I suppose when as soon as they have been voted in the shutters come down.

Thankfully those of us that don't have any allegiances to any party, research things and form our own opinion. And that's what makes a democracy

We are going to see a lot of political upheaval in the coming months and I believe it will be for the betterment (is that even a word?!) of this country.

Are you a FG or LAB supporter by any chance?

I welcome opinions across all sides. It makes for great debate. But I don't rate opinions that are by people simply towing the party line

Im assuming its an e-mail or the column she writes for the Irish times, and in all fairness DDI are not exactly responsible for what people write in there comments section having said that idiots like that need to be site banned and there posts removed so they cant post again.

Ive e-mailed an MEP to see if I can get clarification on the matter anyways, if I get a response ill post it here

What has that got to do with water charges?

There is an arguement that the billion spent, and loaned to IW,could have been used,in part at least,to fund projects for emergency housing.

    And critical Health projects.

Such a scandalous waste of taxpayers money.

And to think they now want to charge the public again.

A bit like the bank bailout, don't you think.?

    Lucinda turns left too late...

"Irish Water has more than €1 billion spent on it to date, says Lucinda Creighton.

"More than €1 billion of taxpayers’ money has already been spent on Irish Water with much more to follow, a former minister of state has claimed.

Reform Alliance TD Lucinda Creighton said the company had borrowed €250 million from the National Pensions Reserve Fund in 2013. This year, it collected a further €240 million from the property tax.

It also received €490 million from the local government fund this year, will get €190 million from businesses every year, “and will continue to collect a sum, which while substantially less than the €500 million a year originally intended, will be nonetheless substantial, from householders every year.

“We do not have any transparency on how much the State has paid to Siteserv, which was sold to Millington for approximately €45.42 million in cash from the State-owned IBRC.”
A subsidiary of the company, Sierra, was awarded a multimillion-euro contract for the installation of water meters, she said.

The former Fine Gael TD said taxpayers “have never been told how much they are paying to this company”.

Road opening license is required for any excavation work.

    http://www.meath.ie/CountyCouncil/Roads/RoadOpeningLicenses/

I'd say most meters were installed without one.

An FOI request to IW should verify it.

FG/Lab are dregs. Yes men to big business, yes men to EU bullying. Over the last 3 and a half years they have forgotten the people they are supposed to represent.

And yes they say that the economy is doing well and Europe is promoting us as the poster boys of Europe for austerity. But to be honest I simply don't believe it. I've been working in finance since 2005 in Dublin City and I am simply not seeing what they say is happening. I think its a f**king ploy to be honest. The IMF left last year and there was a big hurrah and media was reporting it has a huge success. Yet they are back every few months to look at the books. I simply don't believe the positive spin to be honest. Austerity is over they say while they force more onto the Irish people. Why not take the money from the USC if austerity is over or even reduce the USC to enable people to pay the water charges.

Lies, Lie, Lies!! Roll on Dec 10th and our feeling will be made clear to both the Government and the EU. We may be a small nation which is why we have been bullied to kingdom come in the first place but we will be heard!!

how to deal with GMC Sierra and IW properly, no notification of works, no site notices, no health and safety requirements, no dig permits, basically turned up and hoped to get away with it and in case everyone jumps on the man about the af2 form, it has to be displayed on site at all times.

Approved Form (AF2) – Notification of a Construction Site. The Project Supervisor (Construction Stage) must fill in the AF2 before construction work begins and this must be displayed clearly on the site (and updated as necessary). [Notification is required for work planned to exceed 30 working days or 500 man days or where there is specific risk as listed in Schedule 1 of the Construction Regulations].

And heres the video well done all in St Judes court Lifford

Lol @ the last couple of minutes, that Foreman looked like a bold schoolboy, taking a telling off from the headmaster for chewing gum in class.

But, tbh, I'm more worried that GMC Sierra are actively sending construction workers (they're not plumbers) out into the public estates and roadways without the relevant paperwork to do so.

If a member of the public becomes injured on a site that they don't have the relevant paperwork for, they'd be destroyed (and that'd be terrible altogether).

And if your so concerned about our future then organise protests to get the charge reinstated as was originally planned, see how much support you get then, takes 5 minutes to setup a facebook page and start spreading the word as the anti side has done.

There is no need to. The government have added the spoonful of sugar to help the medicine go down, and the €600 annual fee will come in time. The populace just got its knickers in a twist on this one and the govt has had to stretch out the implementation. Less efficient than what they had planned, but that's the price Ireland has to pay for having such an irrational and ignorant portion of society. Its an unfortunate consequence of the plain people thinking they can understand that about which they know nothing, and their exploitation by the political opportunists and anti establishment cranks.

Sure 600 is nothing when the minimum wage is 36000 a year or so says Enda Kenny.

December 10th will be massive for a midweek, those lucky enough to have a job will be taking either the full or half day off ,people have finally had enough, the political merry go round that is FF/FG/LAB will finally come to an end, it'll likely be SF /Independents /people before profit alliance and Socialist party who will be the big winners, i really don't know how anyone in their right mind could vote for FF/FG/LAB after what they have done to the country, they'll get absolutely humiliated, some farmers and D4 types will likely still vote for them but the majority wont.
