    Time for them to go?

You will have your chance come May 2016.
    (If not sooner).

    Glorious socialism awaits.

I see the same numpties are up to their old tricks again, a few flag waving gob****es are now blocking the junctions of O'Connell bridge in all directions

Serious crowd out. I'd say easily 50,000. Great atmosphere.

FFS. There's enough police around now to remove them.

Will you be sending over a parcel from Holland?

Brabant, and no, I'll be bringing a car. Will be volunteering over the Christmas period and donate, as per usual, in lieu of gifts. We appreciate the fact that we have more than most and don't pretend that just because we're in the 99%, that the 1% are trying to steal from us and that we are in some way marginalised by being the squeezed middle.

I'm at the protest, and theres a lot of people here. Didn't go the last one so I can't compare.

I am personally disappointed that you are paying for a mobile phone with 3G, and protesting about €3 a week for water. You can live without a phone, not water.

Or they don't want to join a bunch of turkeys voting for Christmas.

I don't think you understant the 'turkeys voting for Xmas' metaphor.

Well, I'd certainly take any of your commentary on crowd size with a pinch of salt after that post...

Serious crowd out. I'd say easily 50,000. Great atmosphere.

Half of the last one isn't really great numbers. It seems much smaller to me anyways. I know it's a work day but if it's less than 50K i don't think that's good numbers at all. Especially due to the hype created about how it was going to be a massive turnout.

  • Registered Users Posts: 68,317 ✭✭✭✭seamus

    Hahaha. Stop making things up.
That's exactly what I did. And that's exactly my point, that anyone standing in the crowd who gives an attendance figure is completely talking through their hole. I'm glad you understand.

Everyone knew it would be smaller due to it being a work day.

That post was tongue in cheek obviously. It's true, though, to be honest.

    Unbelievable turn out.

People from all walks of life.

    Many families with kids.

    Have seen banners from...

    Cork,Cobh,Kerry,Meath,Sligo,Donegal,Kildare,Mayo,Offaly,Waterford.

    100,000 at least.

    Atmosphere is jubilant.

    Proud

Don't you worry about that, the rest of us eejits will pay for you. Is there anything else we can get you to make you more comfortable?

Not really. I've seen lots of references saying it would top 100K.

And you think that'll stop it working?

Stop spinning, the organisers were talking about a "mass mobilisation" that would overthrow the government.

Oh is Cobh not Cork? Whenever I seen mentions of Cobh, I assumed it was Gaelic for Cork! I'm away to check Google maps and educate myself/

To me it doesn't make any sense.

So far on feeds i've seen

    Anti Abortion Posters
    Pro Abortion Poster
    Anti Emigration posters
    Anti Austerity Alliance
    Anti eviction posters
    Eirigi "Be a Patriot"
    Can't pay won't pay
    No way we won't pay
    Water is a human right
    Greed Corruption
Resource Theft - Gas, Oil, Fish, Wind, Seaweed

I thought it was supposed to be abolishment of water charges, who are all these other guys.

Unite seem to be on the band wagon even though 3 weeks ago they were fighting for Irish Water workers bonuses and people are fine with that ?

Why are so many people wearing hoodies with Scarfs covering their faces.

I think it was a bad idea to invite everyone, nobody knows what the message is.

It doesn't matter the numbers it's the divide its created between the government and the people. Time for them to go?

Paul Murphy wrote in the Irish Times on Sat that he wants us to pay for fixing water system directly through taxation. The govt wants to borrow the money instead. that's what Irish Water is all about.
