In fact it is just the very (all too) ordinary citizens of Ireland.
Which is depressing. If it were loonies, cheats and thugs, the storm in a tea cup could be laughed off as just a bit of local colour and passing entertainment.
Unfortunately, it is the low level of thought prevalent in so many Irish people that has created this embarrassing own goal for the people of Ireland. It would make you wonder are they really mature enough to govern themselves, or even for democracy itself.

Please consider carefully why you think either of the above would be any better than what you have voted for in the past. You will realise that there is no reason.
