Revamped VW Jetta

Anyone test drive the updated jetta in dealers last few days?Seems to be far better laid out in cabin and has new engines-2litre diesel with either 110 bhp or 150 bhp.Nearly bought one last year but went for the new Octavia instead-same 1.6 105 bhp engine but far more equipped in Elegance trim and the added plus over the jetta of the liftback boot.Still-think this model jetta will do well here.

No, independent set up.

It is still based on the MkVI Golf platform. This is just a facelift, not a new car.

But it's still the 2011 model? Its not on the MQB platform like modern similarly sized VWs?

That model is only out 3 years, so this is hardly a new model

its a facelift of the 2011 model but has good few changes- most notably the newer engines which it shares with the new Passat.Also chassis is on the mqb platform which is not on the 2011 model.A fine buy although still a bit close to the Passat in price which lost it potential customers in the past .

It's still on the older platform. If VW were going to the trouble of putting it on a new platform then why would they make it look so similar to the 2011 model? This is just a facelift with updated engines that are being introduced in other VAG cars also.
