I want to start saving for my kids and while they will definitely have their own bank/credit union/An Post account I also want something that is going to provide a better return.

They will use the bank/CU/An Post account as a learning tool to inform themselves about regular operations and interest rates/dividends. However, can anyone advise as to what financial vehicles are out there for kids?

    Bonds?
    Trust Fund?
Something else that is relatively low-risk but will provide a better return than banks?

    Thanks in advance.
