XBOX One Controller Wireless vs Wired (PC release)

    I don't own an xbox one currently but wanted to pick up a controller for my PC.

    I know they released a PC (wired/comes with usb cable) version.

    Should I get the PC specific release or will the regular xbox one wireless controller work with my PC and a regular micro-usb (same as for kindle?) cable ?

    Is the PC controller just a wireless pad with a usb cable ?

    Thats exactly what it is, drivers were released a while back allowing you to use it with a usb cable.
