why keep kicking that kind of ball to folou and now beale

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,774 ✭✭✭uptherebels

Of course he's trying to stop it getting there. That doesn't mean he's not trying to catch it at the same time. Well within his rights to attempt that.

Except you arent judged on intentions your judged on actions....hand moving forward , ball hits palm and goes forward= palmed ball....same with high tackles, late tackles and forward passes doesnt matter what you were "trying" to do...folau knew zebo was there for a walk in if he did stop that ball not a situation to be contemplating a leaping one hander

We have NO imagination in the backs. Questions to be asked after this series

No need for Henshaw to give possession away there

  • Registered Users Posts: 597 ✭✭✭UnitedWeStand

Feels like Aus just need a bit of time in our 22 to strike. And our errors will let them get there. Feeling like unless we get into this soon Aus will pull away.

Actually in knock ons you are judged on intention - hence why most are a scrum, but deliberate ones (typically when no attempt is made to catch) are penalised. Folau was close to catching that kick, and if not for an awkward landing he might still have juggled it to some sort of catch.

One for the backrow boys there, well done Rhys and Peter

Nice hands from Sexton, POM isolated.

The Aussie backs are repeatedly crawling along on their knees when they're tackle and held.

he was not close to catching the ball the ball touched his hand and thats about as close as he got

    This ref is pretty brutal.

Madigan should add some incision in midfield.

That sub was gonna happen anyways. Darcy has been brutal

Best to Toner hasn't worked at all, why continue with it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,799 ✭✭✭✭Pudsy33

    And people lambast Cronin...

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,658 ✭✭✭Kanrith

    The long throws aren't working.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,008 ✭✭✭leakyboots

D'Arcy off. Thought he was poor and off the pace. Will be interesting to see what Madigan can do.

Rory Best has the yips. Offers so much else around the park but I'm not a fan of hookers who can't throw reliably

    Great scrum, great kick

We are consistently making mistakes. Australia aren't (at least to the same degree) but we are still tied.

If we can clean up our play, we should still be able to get this.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

    So close Rob.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,306 ✭✭✭BobbyPropane

That was a mental drop goal attempt

He hasn't. He has let a lot go but he's let same go for both sides and been fairly consistent

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

    Foley on for Toner.

All full-backs should be able to drop goal, it was a very good attempt. So unlucky.

Define "close" cause he was nowhere close .high ball dropping across your body, at the limit of your reach...only in dreamland was that a serious attempt at a catch....it was a serious attempt at doing anything to stop the ball going past him edit: and by actions I mean trying to pass back but going forward anyway not necessarily deliberately passimg forward

Hopefully Foley has a big game. Not surprising that Toner has come off.

What a kick from Kearney. A fecking shame it didn't go through. It would have been sweet.

Great kick by Kearney. Very disappointed in the subsequent chase though.

Reminds me a bit of the leicester leinster final in 09. Really tight second half.

Great kick Johnny, drive on from here.
