gig prices??

    Hi
    can someone please advise of a standard price for a 3 hour piano set in a restaurant? I've got no idea! Thanks

    Depends. What value do you put on three hours of your time? Bearing in mind that it took you years of training to get to a position where you can charge.

    Also, one-off or a regular gig? I'd charge €150 for a one-off. I'd come down for a regular gig, but it'd still have to be three figures. Of course, I'm worth more, because I play guitar. :pac:

    Don't undervalue yourself, whatever you do. Musicians do this too much. A waiter on wages plus tips will be coming out with decent money. You are offering a more specialised service than a waiter, and should charge more.

    Thanks. just ive been playing for year but this is my first paid gig and have no idea what the going rate is etc. thanks for that though

    Just playing for a year might be a different story....

    That meant to say years.....hahahaa god no...one year of playing and i wouldnt inflict it on people.

    Do it for tips and then hope that the owner might throw you a few bob at the end.

    But seriously, €50 an hour for a very specialised skill seems reasonable to me. always negotiate above what you really want though.
