Duff is yellow flagged at this moment. Should I be worried?

Its only a slight knock, i'd sit tight for the moment and wait for more info closer to the weekend! Unless you have been planning on moving him on this week anyway he won't do you any harm on your bench for a week! My problem is with my current defenders unless i bring Azpil in for Duff he will probably have to start for me!

@Swiper, you think Kane is going to start regularly?

You should know better than asking me about how Spurs will line out. :o
Personally I don't think so long term but he'll definitely start next week, if the 1m or so difference between him and Sakho or Austin is vital to you I'd take a chance but I'd prefer the latter two.
I wonder who Spurs will buy in January?

I have both and am very happy about it.

Cesc will score consitently over the entire season and Hazard is the player I would captain when Chelsea are at home as he is a better choice than Costa and Fabregas imho - Hazard is explosive. In addition, there are also much better players at 4-5m cheaper than Costa than there are 4-5m cheaper than Hazard/Fabregas.

This I totally agree with and with the upcoming Xmas fixture list and Costa's injury concerns, I contemplating

    Di Maria to Hazard

    Costa to Rooney

    I also have Fabregas.

If Rooney doesn't work out, I can downgrade to a form striker i.e Pelle and use the other money to upgrade elsewhere

And anybody doubting Fabregas should watch the full game and see how good he was! Another assist, 3 bonus and could easily have gotten a couple more assists!
The two of them are going to have a great season. Hazard will get more double figure hauls And more 2/3 point games. Cesc will be more consistent with assist and bonus points.

    Maybe we should buy both!

Thats pretty much my thought. I think having both is going to be the right way around things and the most profitable.

I keep getting tempted to get Costa back in, but hes not getting bonus points and has the threat of an impending suspension hanging over him. Long term I may look at all 3 but for me, Fabregas is a season keeper

Think I'm going to do the following:

    Costa -> Austin
    Steven Taylor -> Baines

and is it worth this for a 4 hit...

    Di Maria -> Hazard?

I think you have missed the boat with Baines. I have shipped Baines out. With his current injury concerns & the upcoming fixture schedule I would be opting for Ivanovic over Baines

Had known since last week that my transfer will be Rob Green in for Gilks. The week beforehand I had to transfer out De Gea for Krul. Two 4.5 GK's free'd up 0.4M to get in Austin. Their fixture list works off each other well.

Pelle out. Austin in. I've spent the last two days thinking about it and Austin is the way to go IMO.

Chances are my second transfer will be Forster to Green. I'm very nervous about having two QPR players in my team though, even if one is a striker and the other a 'keeper.

I've been contemplating similar but I'm a bit wary of losing my only two Southampton players. Tough fixture list yes, but I think it might be premature to get rid of both. Still undecided.

    Krul - Foster
    Duff - Cameron - Ivan - Naylor - Chambers
    Hazard - Tadic - Boyd - Siggy - Chadli
    Cotsta - Pelle - Aguero

    2FT 0.6mITB

Tadic, Pelle & Cameron > ADM, Austin & Caulker for -4 look good? Pelle & Tadic obviously have tricky fixtures and Cameron is just dead weight. Even with the fixtures is 2 QPR too much?

A reminder for those who are about to bring Kane in - Tottenham plays in Europa League on Thursday. I wouldn't make that transfer before that game.

Actually, don't know where I was at this morning with that suggestion.

Pelle -> Austin is the only definite transfer. That would leave me with Costa, Aguero, Austin which is as potent as any strike force.

I have a few options of what to do in midfield though, and this is causing me some heartache.

I can either double up on Chelsea by getting rid of Di Maria allowing me to get in Hazard (to go with Fabregas), or swap out Fabregas for Hazard.

    Essentially a choice between:

Sanchez - Di Maria - Hazard - Downing - Boyd
    or
    Sanchez - Hazard - Fabregas - Downing - Boyd

    Decisions Decisions.

Pelle hasn't been great for the last couple of weeks they aren't going to face teams who just want to defend like Villa did last night but they seem to have gone off the boil just a little.

If you look at GW4-8 vs GW9-12 he is playing a little deeper he is getting on the ball more overall but his involvement in the final third has dropped off. He has less shots, less shots in the box and as has been well documented not a single shot on target in the last 4 weeks which is a big worry for a striker! GW12 he actually played in almost the same position as Rooney. GW12 tadic played a fair bit further up the pitch than Pelle and GW11 he was further up the pitch than him too. I had planned on keeping Pelle and letting Tadic go but having looked into it a little more I think Tadic is the one to keep.

Terry is getting a good chance nearly every game at this stage. I'd love to have 4 Chelsea players Terry fab Haz and costa.

My transfers this week should leave me with 3.1 mil spare if I go for Forster to Green. The plan previously was Baines in but now I'm thinking Moore to Terry and Fab to Hazard next week. That'd leave me with:

    Green Elliott
    Terry Naylor Chambers Wisdom Dummett
Hazard Di Maria Sanchez Siggy Marney
    Austin Costa Aguero

I can see Hazard having a decent game against Spurs at home next Wednesday.

Wow Terry, Hazard, ADM, Sanchez, Costa & Aguero! I wouldn't have even thought that was possible!!

I think this is a great idea!!!

    I don't have Costa.

Would Pelle/ADM to Rooney/Hazard be a good idea this week for a minus 8

Don't have Costa as I said, don't particularly want him in my team at the moment but a huge percentage in my PL's own him. I need to have some sort of defence against a Costa haul and maybe Hazard is the answer???

I'm twisting and turning with my team along not dissimilar lines and am tantalisingly 0.4 short of fitting Terry, Hazard, ADM, Sanchez, Bony, Costa & Aguero.

0.1 short of doing it with Azpil instead of Terry.

Torn between going the Austin route and fitting my Chelsea def without downgrading ADM etc, or going with Bony and leaving Chelsea defence another few weeks.

You could just go with Kane instead of Austin and you'd have a little extra going spare!

Bony instead of Austin is what I'm trying to fit. I can comfortably fit Terry with Austin.

This is something along the lines of the dream team, which would sacrifice Downing and go with cheaper 4th mid to rotate with the defenders. That could be Lampard instead of Bolasie for Xmas. Could do this over 2 or 3 weeks with 4 transfers.

Only nucleus of a plan, but I think this is a pivotal couple of weeks to adjust my team a bit. Any initial thoughts?

It will be interesting to see how Sanchez, ADM & Costa deal with the lack of Christmas break and the fixture congestion might come as bit of a culture shock for them! There's surely only so many years that Terry can keep on playing 2 games a week too he will surely break/need a rest at some point.

  • Registered Users Posts: 16,305 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Prodston

I think Jedinak over Bolasie. He's 0.3 cheaper, on many set-pieces and pens and probably more consistent in out put. If Bolasie wins a pen then Jedinak should score it. It's an awful shame that Punchy's gametime is diminished under Warnock

If Warnoc would make up his mind between Puncheon and Zaha I'd probably get on it, either of them have more potential than any other Palace mids IMO.
Puncheon in particular, legend from two years ago.

I like the look of that team a lot. Only trouble you might run into is if Debuchy displaces Chambers ahead of Christmas. A 5.7m striker instead of Costa and Oscar for Bolasie would get you awfully close to Baines as well :p

That position is very much up for grabs. Jedinak, Brady maybe. A very very cheeky punt on Lampard for the Xmas period (also at 5.4) could possibly Prodston-ise that team a bit more?!?!

Baines is dead to me now. I want attack attack attack.

Costa/Bony could be downgraded to upgrade midfield or defence.

As we get closer to the Jan wildcard the more little punts can be taken at little risk.

Lampard is sketchy at the best of times but over Xmas I dunno now. He'll play a few games for sure but will he play the ones you want him to?

It continues to disgust me with my safe style this year but there you go. I'm due another RVP/Nolan moment myself in the next few GWs :pac:

I played safe on Captain this week costing me 9 points. Was seriously considering a -8 for a while but might do -4 and see how it goes, especially as it now looks like Downing will be fit this week.

Rooney going up tonight. I'm going - 4 to. I've already done Welbeck to Austin.
Tonight it'll be Pelle to Rooney.
Later in the week if Hazard is about to rise I'll probably go ADM to Hazard

anyone looking forward a bit and trying to have 2 City attackers for the festive period? GW17-20 looks delicious i'm thinking Kun and Silva, tho there's a bit of a cloud over Silva a.t.m. with his injury

Between their respective fixtures and the observations made by jimmii above I just did the same. I have another free transfer which I'll weigh up over the next couple of days, now have 2.2 in the bank.

I agree re the Xmas break. I think the lack of it really hit Ozil last year.

Terry is a centre half so he wouldn't use as much energy as others on the pitch. He'll be loitering down with Courtois and Cahill using no energy while Costa and Hazard are busy scoring!

Will probably do Bony > Pelle. Is it he defo gonna drop in price?

Does anyone have any updates on Baines and Chadli's injuries?

I'm thinking it's time to get off the Chambers bandwagon. They haven't kept many clean sheets and it's not long until Debuchy is back.

I'm thinking Chambers -> Yun. And then Pellé -> Bony the week after.

Only problem atm is my team has Duff, Chadli, Downing and Baines. Quinn too actually. So until more comes out about them, I can't make changes. I'd love to have Bony to captain this weekend though but I'm 0.1m off :(

EDIT: Always the chance Costa will get another yellow soon too. Team could fall apart if I'm not careful!

Already did Berahino to Austin with my 1 free transfer. Was contemplating doing Pelle -> Bony for a hit. Will have to make a decision tonight either way since Pelle is dropping. If it was for free it would be a no brainer really but is it worth -4? I'm not sure it is but would like opinions please.

I'm doing it for a hit and may captain him. Reckon it will pay off over the next few weeks if not the next two games - Bony has Palace and QPR at home while Pelle has City at home and Arsenal away. Thought Pelle was awful last night and couldn't wait to get rid of him.

Aguero hat truck tonight against Bayern.
    Does nothing against Swansea.

Have enough cash to bring in Costa for Pelle, but tempted to get Bony instead. Hmmm decisions! Scared of not having Costa, but Bony seems like the wiser move, with the 4 yellow cards, constant injury doubts over Diego and two nice home games for the swans.
