Is that stuff any good? Find a lot of craft stout tastes like awful flat stout that you'd see in pubs hours after being poured

It was my first time trying the west Indies and I really enjoyed it. The Dubliner tastes like nothing tbh. But don't pour them into a glass because it does look like 5 hour old Guinness.

Dunnes have 4 for €10 offer on various Irish beers including: O'Haras, Galway Hooker, Trouble, Blacks of Kinsale (incl. Rocket Ship which is usually €3.55 a btl), Hilden etc. Not sure how long it lasts but usually go for week or 2 at a time

Me, if it's 6.5% abv, packed with expensive Australian hops and damned good.

I've paid a lot more than that on occasions. A lot of people prefer quality to quantity, although that's not to say that there's anything wrong with taking the other approach. It's all down to personal preference really.

I agree about quality but when things like pint of rebel red, kinsale IPA ir metalmam is less than fiver in a pub for a pint, it seems expensive for a bottle....

O'Briens in Ballybrack are doing 6 for 5 on a lot of craft beers until tomorrow.
not sure if its all O'Briens though?

They have it in Blanch too, so I'd say it's in all branches.

Slightly related to Dunnes 4 for €10 offer. Do Dunnes have a Special Offers type leaflet/pdf showing their offers? I can't find anything on their website.

Its called the craft tax, they just up the prices knowing the people who are buying them are early adopters/hipsters...something like the apple tax for beer...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,332 ✭✭✭Redsoxfan

O'Briens 6 for 5 is available online too. Free delivery if you order over 60 euro.

Or it's the reality that 4 lads in a small unit in an industrial estate can't produce beer as cheaply as hundreds of lads and tens of millions of euros of equipment in a massive factory can.

Economy of scale and all that.
