LIT is next to Thomond park. If you're there early enough you could park in their carpark.

You can park quite close to Thomond but the only drawback is you'll be stuck in traffic afterwards.

If you don't pay and display you will. Its usually €2 for a standard day but it'll probably be a bit more on match day.

I think Limerick FC charge €5 on match nights for parking in LIT

I'd park in city and walk out to the ground or cross the river but park between river and ground.

Which direction are you coming from?

You can park in LIT. Jetland is handy too if it's a dry night. 10 min walk. If you're up a good bit before kickoff you can park on the road towards King Johns

St Munchins primary school also enable parking in their grounds during matches, but spaces are limited, I think they charge €10 for the parking which 100% of goes to the school funds...a bit steep but for a worthy cause, they are less than 2 mins walk from the grounds adjacent to Hassetts cross.

Get onto the motorway at Ballysimon, and head north (signed Ennis/Galway). Immediately on exiting the Shannon tunnel, take the first exit. careful it's only about 100m after tunnel. Head for Dunnes Jetland or Woodies car park ... only 2 minutes from toll booth. It's then only a 7 minute walk to the ground. And afterwards you are close to the motorway for a fast exit.

You could try the park and ride.

These locations were available for the Saracens match in October and would be viable coming from Waterford.

Park and Ride will be in operation from the following locations:
South Court Hotel - Drops at LIT
Kilmurry Lodge - Drops at Dugout Bar, Fanzone Plaza
Henry Street - Drops outside East Stand
    Plaza Express, Groody Road

The same options should be available next week. Keep an eye on www.munsterrugby.ie later next week for the actual times.

If you're thinking of using the P&R the Plaza Express is just off the N24, after you cross the motorway, head down the hill, keep in righthand lane, turn right at roundabout the Plaza in on your right off the next roundabout.

If it was me, I drive into town and park on Henry St/O'Connell St area and walk out.

thanks for the info lads its much appreciated, also do ya have to pay parking in jetland

Jetland SC car park is free of charge but just take note of the closing times as you don't want to return later on to find your car is locked in. Retail Park car park across the road from it is open 24x7 however.

For big games the retail park has a couple of security guys by the roundabout at the entrance to it. Anyone with jerseys, heavy coats & hats etc is refused.

Was there last Sunday, when the hurling was on in the Gaelic grounds.
Car park jammed to the gills, and the security lads were just watching the world go by.

Only wanted to go to woodies.

Same as myself and the aviva last Saturday.

If you're fond of a few pints and you go to one of the bigger matches in Thomond, you should book into a hotel for the night and go out in Limerick city afterwards. Match nights in town are usually great craic. Great atmosphere around the place

Depends on what sort of a night you have in store (ie group lads vs bringing the missis/sprogs with you) but you can get cheap rooms in the likes of The Pier Hotel (on Sarsfield's bridge) that'll do the job in terms of a place to put your head down and breakfast in the morning if it's the former!
