A friend has gotten a job in Baldoyle, what would be good areas for a house share that aren't rough neighbourhoods , is handy to get to work in the morning by car or public transport and is reasonable rent expense wise ?

    Sutton, Raheny & Baldoyle itself.

Raheny or Killester if you don't want to live in Baldoyle itself... They're on the DART line and 29A bus route which goes thru Baldoyle also. If you are driving to work from there, you will be going against the traffic so will be quick.

Clongriffin may be handy enough also.

Howth would be lovely, but rents likely higher than other locations listed here...

The centre of Baldoyle is really awkward to get to on public transport from Sutton or Howth, there's basically no real transport links worth mentioning. Bayside is awkward too, in that it's a fairly unsheltered walk across a really big open green space, or a drive that's crazy long when you consider the distance as the crow flies.

Whereabouts in Baldoyle is the job? Is it in the industrial estate? It might sounds trivial, but it can actually make a fairly big difference as to whether or not anywhere on the DART line is viable.

If it's not in the industrial estate I'd be looking at somewhere along the 29A route. Actually, that'd also work fine even if it is in the industrial estate.
