I am writing on behalf of a friend.
His phone is broken, but he's in a 24 month contract with Meteor.
He's got 11 months left on it, and he can't be affording a new handset.

I have been monitoring the Terms and Conditions page to see if there's a change that would void the contract, but I can't seem to find one.

Does anyone know if a recent change, or a way to get out of it?

    Thanks!

I'm sure he can afford a handset, just not a flashy one. Quite apart from used phones and the like Meteor have smartphones from €39.99.

as above, a broken phone doesn't void a contract, is it not repairable?

Thank you both for your replies.

No, phone does not need to be flashy at all, but the contract is quite high (sadly) and can't really afford it.

They have prepay 4G handsets starting at €79

Yeah, but it is in a bid to get out of contract. A contract that is far higher than possible to pay at the present.
He was let go from his job.

So is the phone broken or not?

Contracts are legally enforceable, your friend remains liable
