Meeting while on holidays?

I am heading to Sydney on NYE for a two week holiday to see my brother. I work in the social care sector here and have toyed with the idea of emigrating to Oz before. My husband works in the same field and we have 3 children. Would it be possible to maybe make some appointments to meet someone in the field over there, or would there even be any point? If I look up employers, would they even entertain the notion of meeting with someone on a holiday? I basically want to explore my options and see what I would be capable of doing over there, what am I qualified for etc. Any help or advice really appreciated. Thanks, Amy

    Maybe see if DOCS sponsor.

Consult the FAQ and see if your occupation is there on the skills list.

You could try but the two weeks around NYE are dead and I doubt any decision makers will be at work.

Also please remember, you can meet but you cannot work. No demos, no trials etc

Thank you both for your replies. Batgurl - not a hope in HELL in me doing any work - I am on a holiday lol! I have emailed the ACWA asking for some advice so hopefully I will hear something back from them. :)
