Numbers on Bridges in Galway

    Anyone know what these plaques with some sort of code on are. Would think the the second bit is the road number. Just noticed the one on Wolfetone bridge last week then another on the bridge over the Eglington Canal near to St Josephs church.

    I think it is ; Region - Road Number - Structure Serial Number
    It is used as a reference for inspections and routine maintenance.
